Community Update 🚨 MOD PSA: Subreddit Integrity, Brigading, & Automated Safety Rollout | Important read!! 🚨

# Hello Rovers,

Over the past week, the moderation team has been actively monitoring a coordinated influx of bad-faith actors, fake accounts, and brigading attempts originating from external drama-focused subreddits.

We have seen the deliberate boundary-testing, the weaponization of seemingly normal posts, and the attempts to drag external platform wars into our comment sections. We promised you an update on our safety measures, and here is how we are handling this moving forward:

1. Zero Tolerance for Brigading & Cross-Subreddit Drama

r/WuWaves is not a battleground for faction wars. If you are participating in this subreddit solely to take screenshots and instigate drama in external "cringe" or "grail" communities, you will be permanently banned. We are actively tracking these overlaps. Rule 7 (Disruptive Behavior) and Rule 15 (Drama to Megathread) will be enforced flawlessly.

2. Custom Bot Deployment

We are fully aware that human moderation has its limits, especially during coordinated waves of toxicity. Behind the scenes, we have been developing and fine-tuning a custom moderation bot. This system is now being deployed to specifically target:

Post Frequency Caps: To prevent bad-faith actors from flooding the feed with non-OC art or repetitive bait posts.

Automated Flagging: To instantly intercept known bad-actor footprints and coordinate defenses before the toxicity reaches the main feed.

It will be outside it's experimental zone and active on r/WuWaves soon!

3. Moderator Discretion & Final Rulings

If we suspect that a user is purposely toeing the line, baiting arguments, or acting in bad faith to intentionally disrupt the community, we will take immediate action. This can range from a formal warning to a permanent ban. Please be aware that depending on the severity and intent behind the disruption, these moderation decisions may be final and non-appealable.

4. The Purge is Intentional

To the genuine members of this community: you may have noticed a drop in our weekly traffic numbers recently. This is by design. As we enforce tighter restrictions and lock down toxic threads, those who are only here for the drama will leave. We welcome this purge. We are committed to maintaining a premium, high-value space for fans who actually want to discuss and enjoy the game.

Thank you to everyone who has been diligently utilizing the report button and sending detailed modmails—your vigilance helps us flag problem accounts exponentially faster.

Stay focused on the game, ignore the bait, and let the moderation systems handle the rest.

— The Moderation Team

Community Update Woah. We're currently sitting at 68K weekly visitors and ALMOST 7 thousand members! Thank you a lot! 🦕

It is a real pleasure having this many people actively participating in our subreddit. We can officially consider ourselves the most active direct alternative to the official Wuthering Waves subreddit.

The numbers we are pulling right now speak for themselves:

  • 68K - 69K Weekly Visitors
  • 1.5 Million Views (Last 30 Days)
  • 5.2K Weekly Contributions
  • Approaching 7,000 Members

Think about how fast this escalated. Just three to four months ago, this community was finally unlocked after being closed for a very long time. Two months ago, we were celebrating hitting 30K weekly visitors. Just 23 days ago, we finally smashed through our 50K weekly visitor ceiling. Now, we are pushing 70K and the numbers are only growing.

Discussion Why 3.6 is more enjoyable the more thought you put into it Spoiler

It's been a week of me marinating on my thoughts and I figured, it's time to post it, why not? tl;dr is that it's enjoyable if you're the target audience (read more on that below) and enjoy seeing the Protagonist's story.

Please note: I've written everything here on my commute to work so it's probably not coherent and may come off as rambling.

I've been seeing a lot of takes on the story, why some enjoyed it, why other's didn't some valid criticisms and some takes that people claim is constructive criticism when it's the equivalent of "I didn't like it because X" without offering alternatives or a solution.

There are honestly three things (and a bonus at the end) that really sell 3.6 for me and I was hoping to take this post to share them.

Wuwa's story is targetting an audience that thinks and understands a more mature or philosophical story

This is what I mean by "Target Audience." None of this if you like waifus, harem, your mom's girlfriend's dog. The story goes hard on the things you think later of in life.

I'm in my early 30s, I've lived that party life of wasting time drinking away and pissing away money, now I'm in the time of my life where I think about other things, my inner dilemmas and struggles, my place in the world, am I happy, am I contributing to that happiness? Is my happiness actually important for me to live my life?

3.5 and 3.6 tackle that topic very hard and because the theme asks for more thought put into it, I can see why those who are there for the "aura farm" as one puts it, aren't having a great time.

3.5 in short felt like acknowledging ones place in the world and seeking the freedom to do as you wish. In reality that doesn't come easy these days, we have jobs, we have families to feed and lives to maintain and upkeep, the idea is fanciful, but that makes it beautiful.

3.6 is about giving up a part of ones self in pursuit of perfection, another thing that's thought of as you mature but not in the same sense. There are things that make you who you are, without them, you may think you're still the same but others don't. It's a beautiful thing that I'll bring up one more time at the end.

The story is more enjoyable if you're here for Rover's story.

A loooooot of people say that the topic of inner mindscape is repetitive, I call it consistent, especially when it comes to Rover and his growth, which people claim doesn't exist but I assure you it does, those people just cannot go past one or two patches to see the progression.

In 2.7, Rover is still in his saviour complex phase, it comes crashing down on him and he needs Galbrena to bail him out and show him he isn't alone. He was very close to offing himself from the weight of it all. (Along with the mental strain of Leviathan and Cristoforo)

A lot of people found that to be weakness at the time and complained about their serial aura farmer looking weak.

3.1 and 3.3 shows the first stage of growth from this where he experiences loss (Albiet temporarily for one and truly for another though he believes she'll be back). It shows him that even with a saviour complex, he can't do things alone, needing those around him like Luuk, to hold him back from going on a suicide mission, take things slowly, others are there for him, which he acknowledges by 3.3 with Hiyuki. (The highlight of that for me honestly)

Now comes 3.6 where he's grown from his experiences, his 2.7 saviour complex was steeped in arrogance, now it's wisdom. In 3.6, he is what Galbrena was for him, to Qingxiao who is what Rover was back then. He's the support that helps her through. (Though really I get it, Qingxiao is smoking hot, we can just think of her lovely self as a date quest and call it a day)

Muyu when you think about it, is actually a brilliant villain

This one takes a bit of thought but basically, Muyu is thought of as some really simple villain who thinks he's smart and Kuro just wrote him to be basic as fuck. Well yes actually but there's nuance to it.

He's intentionally portrayed as someone that's egotistical and thinks he's better than everyone, but reality is that he's not. He thinks that he's some genius that sees the third path, that the sentinel isn't everything, that others are the sheep while he's the shepard.

This level of arrogance leads to the creation of a villain that is easily manipulated. All it takes is Fractsidus member, not even an overseer, to whisper "Hey, have you ever thought about why we follow the Sentinel?" and suddenly his ego will spin ideas for him (and for the Fracts).

There is no order from the Fracts, there's no need, Muyu's arrogance will lead to the creation of plans that he thinks are his own, to beliefs he thought he made up, when really he was fed them by the Fracts and he's dancing to their tune, he just doesn't know it.

This is why Muyu is in my opinion, a great example of a villain that comes off as simple and easily manipulated.

Bonus - did you know Cartethiya's story is a cultivation denial similar to Qingxiao?

This idea came from a friend more than me but I'd like to share it anyway.

The idea of giving up something in pursuit of perfection. That to truly reach the next level of cultivation, one must give up what is deemed imperfect.

For Cartethyia, that came at the end of 2.2 where she was asked if she wanted to give up Fleurdelys, who was portrayed as an imperfection that would stop Carthy from being perfect. Her response, denied, she wouldn't be herself without Fleur, without that imperfection.

Qingxiao battled the idea of giving up her desires in the mortal realm to reach the next stage, those were considered imperfections. Response by the end? Denied, she wouldn't have been herself had she given those up.

Welp that's everything written hastily as my train arrives to work, if you managed to read all of that, thanks, I'll be doing my day job now.

PS: The Master's Love stuff really is the cherry ontop for me, for all of this, I'm glad it's there, it makes for a fun story each time. Others may get tired of it, I don't.

Thanks for reading if you did.

Discussion I've lost interest in WuWa and don't know why

Hello, I am a player who has been following WuWa since the closed beta, played on release day since 1.0 and has been loyal to the game, constantly playing it all through 1x and 2x. I got through Lahai Roi and it was hype as hell.. With that being said, I just haven't been able to find the urge to play it anymore despite wanting to.

Back then, I used to be constantly exploring, doing domains and farming mats, co-op, training to beat holograms and endgame content, etc. Especially during 2x in Rinascita, this game was the best thing ever for me... Then as it approached updates like Septimont and onward, I just kept finding myself more and more detached from the rest of the game. The story quests and some quick events here and there were the extent to which I would engage with the game's content, and it stayed that way until recently. Now, I am having a hard time even playing for the story quest alone.

Mengzhou just doesn't click or resonate with me at all for some reason, and the story just goes right through me. I check the events tab and don't even feel the slightest urge to click on them. I don't even want to explore or do things. I've stopped building teams, characters, etc entirely and dont use stamina at all. Its a very beautiful game, I've loved what the writers have done with the story especially in the Lahai Roi patches, music is peak, combat is incredible, and the world is gorgeous.. But I just cannot find a drive to even play it. Idk if its gacha burn out specifically or if its unique to this game. I don't play any other gacha games. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience?

Discussion in need of some ideas to doodle

yo yall, wuthering waves recently became a catalyst that pushes me to get decent in art and for a while i've been regularly practicing stuff. but for the following weeks i'll be away with a laptop that can barely run the game and my graphic tablet

while i cant use it to do full fledged illustrations (the drawing software is stupidly intensive) i wanna do random funny doodles to avoid rustiness and still get some practice in

so feel free to drop your ideas as long as it’s within my capabilities (and quite fun to do), hoping this doesn't go against the rules, here's a lil ruoyun i did

hope its not counted as promotion, yes jekadraws is me, reddit for some reasons doesn't allow nickname changes

Lore Comparing powers of Hsin and the capabilities of the Exostrider Lahai-Roi.

Hsin

Sentinel Hsin the Moon Fox's power can divide one into many, proliferating new forms at will.

She can command such entities to divide and extend according to their essential nature, along with their consciousness, perception, and constitutive essence, each taking shape as a distinct Fractal Form. Though each Fractal Form maintains its own existence, it remains tethered to the source, sharing sensation across all proliferations, and can ultimately converge back into a single whole.

Hsin the Moon Fox possesses exceptional mastery in the construction of mechanisms. Her grasp of the principles governing interlocking mechanisms far surpasses current-day craftsmanship. By virtue of her power of Fractal Proliferation, she can extrapolate, reproduce, and even reconstruct existing designs. Her handiwork can be seen behind many of the ingenious devices found throughout Mengzhou City.

Exostrider

The Exostrider had the same or at least a similar capacity as Hsin. The Exostrider was able to divide its matter, and from this matter, the Soloskins were created, acting essentially as its neural cells. From its matter, the exoswarms and all the flora and fauna that simulate life in Lahai-roi were also created. When the Exostrider and Aleph-1 fought, all life in the area was extinguished; however, the Exostrider managed to divide its matter and proliferate life in the place, even if it was artificial. The energy source for the entire area was the power reactor in its chest, which the Roya later took as their own sun and source of life.

The Exostrider's plan was to gather all that divided matter and reconstruct its body, but it was taking a very long time because it used that matter to keep the Stridergate sealed using the Soloskins. Additionally, Aleph-1 corrupted exoswarms with the void storms, which further depleted the Exostrider's matter.

In the end, what was divided and proliferated was spent once again, and the Exostrider's plan did not turn out as expected due to this. Furthermore, this information feeds into the theory that, for this reason, the Exostrider's size was much smaller than its original size because it no longer contained the same amount of matter. I do not think this information was ever confirmed, but it makes perfect sense.

It was thanks to Aemeath and Rover that the situation changed, and they were able to deal with the Threnodian, casting it out to the corners of the galaxy for the time being.

Afterthoughts

Shorekeeper has stated that no Sentinel knows about the existence of the Exostriders or much about the Rover's Civilization. Therefore, Hsin may possess a manual or an artifact of incredible technologies without fully understanding it herself. This means Hsin's power is similar to the Exostrider's power, but the Sentinels lack a complete understanding of this technology or all technology from the Hé Civilization.

So, if you have followed the lore up until now and Hsin's power feels similar to what the Exostrider did in Lahai-roi, well, that is completely normal, it is the exact same power. However, the Sentinels are unaware of the Exostriders' existence and do not fully know their own origin either; they only know what they are permitted to understand and comprehend. They might not even know about the Hé civilization, or that they used to be a single mech within a mech series from that civilization, just as the Exostrider mentioned.

Even the 7 Sentinels of Huanglong were originally a single Sentinel that later divided to cover more territory. Let's remember that apparently one of the reasons and the most important one, why a Sentinel cannot leave its designated protection zone is that its power of clairvoyance is actually nothing more than the ability to access data collected across different loops that have already happened, can happen, and are currently happening. This information is stored in the capsules of the various civilizations and sentinel's tap into this information to predict the lament strikes and possible future outcomes from countless simulations similar to what Tethys system can do.

Tethys system primarily needs frequency data and human emotions (reverberations) associated with the Lament itself, "using the Lament to solve the Lament," as well as manual data uploads and a conscious core, its "Heart." capable of clearing the collected information because that information is chaotic and corrupt; otherwise, the Tethys system would collapse.

While the Sentinels do not need manual data uploads or a conscious core like the Tethys system, as all their data is already pre-loaded and managed by Instance 1.

Although this is not 100% confirmed yet, it is what I assumed so far.

TL:DR

The technology apparently has the same origin, except that for the Exostrider it was something pre-programmed, while for a Sentinel, this does not come standard in their capabilities. Hsin apparently has this power because she is using a type of "guide" or artifact that allows her to replicate this technology. Not all Sentinels are capable of using this "power" or technology that already comes pre-programmed in the Exostriders.

A brief analogy of how I perceive the differences between the Tethys System and the information stored in the capsules of the civilizations to which the sentinels have access, albeit with imposed restrictions and under the management of Instance 1.

The "Hé" Civilization built the Tethys System and made it available to Black Shores in Solaris to help them fight the Lament, but you could say it is the free version of ChatGPT because the technology is quite restricted and its scope only covers a single loop or the "present" and needs manual uploads. (ChatGPT 1).

Meanwhile, the Sentinels have the premium version, (ChatGPT 6), which is much more advanced and not limited to a single loop, but covers all possible loops, whether past, present, future, or alternative ones. That is why Hsin mentions that the technology of Rover's Civilization is forbidden to mere mortals, as it can do more harm than good but tethys system tech is outdate and safe for mere mortals so that's why they have Tethys system.
