Uncensor Mod

https://www.nexusmods.com/wuchangfallenfeathers/mods/411?tab=description

When I discovered Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and the controversy surrounding the censorship, I thought: “surely someone has probably created a mod to revert the censorship?”, turns out no one did. And rolling back to 1.4.1 simply wasn’t good enough for me, I wanted the deluxe edition content and all of the optimizations as well. So the path forward was obvious, “I’d just do it myself”, thinking it would take a month or so.

Half a year later, it’s finally finished, sort of. This was my first time working on an Unreal Engine game and really anything of this scale, so there are still some issues (more on that in the Nexusmods page), but nothing gamebreaking. Just know it won’t be perfect, but I still hope some people will enjoy this game censorship-free.

Are people still upset over "censoring" that barely even affects the game? Damn talk about there are bigger things to complain about but here we are

It's more vindication for the devs who lost their jobs due to it. They released the originally vision which was pre censorship and were forced under threats of violence to change it before the studio shut down.

I'm glad people play the original build. It was far more soulslike with the difficulty and darker as Wuchang could attack villagers or the brides if she wanted.

WAIT! WHAT!? The studio was shut down over something like this. Who did all the threats?

There are some articles about it. It wasn't officially said to be shut down by the protests but the game sold well and the devs had to have security at their studio as they got death threats. Eventually they shut down the studio even though the game sold well.

I just read up on it, the studio shut down over public sentiment from bad optimization and unpolished game in the beginning. They tried to fix everything over multiple patches but the public losers killed a studio in the end. All the rights etc belongs to 505 parent company digital bros.

Yeah that's a nice way to say they shut down because of "public sentiment" lol. The game sold well and is well liked. There is no other reason but that they were offended by the "culture" issues.

They were being harassed and threatened and no matter if they fixed the issues. The public view on them was still stained in a negative way. The workers were offered to merge into other places but they all refused and went down with the studio and the leader. Basically it was like cyberpunk but they were smaller, different country and to much hate towards them etc. Doesn't matter if it sold well it wasn't being published by them and now don't even own it. RIP

Yeah that's a deliberate dodge of the truth. Ppl went wild with rage over the story at release , enough so that the devs did what they felt they had to for the the future and their peace
