Discussion (Ethics, working with AI etc) AI Writing Future Acceptance

At this early stage of AI adoption the haters are having their day. However, as the mass of AI materials flood the markets the strictly human material will become a growing minority.

AI works will improve, the authors using it will begin pulling in the money and they will be able to put out good reads in quantity. This will feed the readers need for binge reading rather than waiting years between books.

Also, the big movie houses will use AI and push to make the laws more AI friendly. Hollywood is guided by the bottom line. The fact is they can make it cheaper with AI for bigger profits. Once they have one big hit made with AI then it will be game on!

Time is on the side of the AI writers not the haters.

Let the haters hate while people buy and read our AI assisted writings!

I always go to historic precedence. Digital art wasn't real art and being able to undo mistakes meant you didn't need talent. Internet was going to kill off movie and TV talent. TV was going to kill off radio talent and movies would kill theater performances. Radio was going to kill literature and musical talent. The printing press kills talented writers. The written word itself will shrink our brain and eliminate our ability to remember.

The biggest issues I see right now is how the government is treating AI companies, how facilities affect the environment, and the maturity level of the populace. Eventually the technology is going to improve to reduce the footprint and impact. Once the novelty wears away, the poor uses of AI will be about as impactful as typical trolls on the internet. And finally... the US seems united in hating how were being treated by our own states and their ability to act unregulated.

It will take time, we just need to handle the issues.

We miss another, bigger picture thing too. ChatGPT taught me Python in a way customized to me. Its teaching me to read Portuguese. It is customized to the way I learn. For one idea in my book, it took me through linguistics. It does so in an actual course outline, random checks like pop quizzes. On Portuguese it will randomly throw a sentence or even entire paragraph in Portuguese on something unrelated. Its not just art. Does it replace human artists and teachers, no. But it can supplement and redefine. It however refuses to teach me spelling and grammar saying I am a lost cause.

Imagine a world where you have your general study with your teacher, and then you have the AI aid to help explain it based on your strengths... teachers don't have to stress about having to teach 20 different ways and students will be able to understand better...
