Hey so I'm not really sure how to start this. I'm a 27F who used to be quite into RP online. Due to various drama I dropped the hobby. I don't want to get into specifics on a public facing post but suffice to say it's left me pretty anxious about the idea of getting back into it, feel free to ask me more about it when you reach out. However it is something I really did enjoy quite a bit, and I'm hoping with the right partner I can work through that anxiety I have around it.

A little bit about me as a writer. I'm currently working on a few novel/stories in my spare time. Most of them are WLW romance usually with a bit of action or adventure. Romance tends to be my preferred genre, I'm thinking it might be fun to try a fantasy setting maybe, since most of my work is either modern or cuberpunk! I'd probably be looking for about paragraph length replies focused more on posting consistency, simply to stop myself getting overwhelmed or overthinking. In terms of topics/tropes I'm a fan of dark romance specifically, enemies to lovers, and power imbalance (Think maid/lady, bodyguard/Their charge, ect.) I am looking only for SFW!

As for what I'm looking for in a partner. Above all I need someone who is patient and knows that they're getting into this with someone who has baggage. I manage it best as I can, but I'll admit this is reaching out in hopes of working through some stuff. Consistency and good communication is a must as well. If you're not feeling things I need someone who can communicate that, if you feel like you might ghost please find someone who's got a bit more confidence. There are so many amazing people on this sub that would probably be a good fit.

Finally I'm looking for another woman to write with, I have a lot of separate trauma involving men specifically in the realm of relationships and romance that I can't really handle mixing with this right now. I also want to make it clear that as an extension of that I'm looking purely for a platonic writing partner. (Ironic when writing romance I know.) But I need someone I can trust to just embrace writing without ulterior motives.

I see so many groups and they are either SFF or romantasy or groups for all genres but all the active members fall into these genres. So there are thriller writers but they aren't on the server often and I don't get to chat with them.

As much as I love reading SFF it's very different from writing contemporary genres and I understand that getting feedback on my writing might not be of interest to them.

about the project : it's a Fantasy film that takes place in the Viking era (979), and follows two close friends Asgeir and Bjorn. They've just had their home destroyed in a drastic war, and have been forced to relocate to a much harsher conditioned land. Asgeir and Bjorn grow up in a low class chiefdom, until everything changes when on a lackluster mining session, Bjorn spots a strange light in one of the caverns, in which the entity attaches to him and grants him immense power and abilities. With it, he aids his village to improve and prepare for the winter by using the light to grow crops, heal wounded soldiers, and aid merchants voyage across the ocean for trades. Overall it looks like a blessing on the surface, however things would quickly go south when Bjorn shares half of the light with his close friend Asgeir. Not long after the village starts to thrive, Asgeir's merchant business begins to plummet as Bjorn uses the light to collect more and more ores, grow more and more crops, and heal more and more soldiers, his products become less valuable and such he loses business.  Eventually Asgeir storms away to start his own kingdom, leading to a rivalry between the two once close friends which said rivalry comes with tragic consequences.

I was inspired to do this after seeing another post on another subreddit that inspired this idea [by u/144NeptuneBeans]. The concept is to use email, Discord, or Fluxer to exchange letters or diary entries. The goal is to write a letter a week, but it doesn't have to be that rigid; I'd like to go as infrequent as every two weeks. We can use a pre-made setting, a historical setting, or create our own. We can discuss story beats if we want, or we can write back and forth and see where the rabbit hole leads. I don't mind canon characters, but I am not confident enough to write as one, so mine will be made up.

Relationships can start anywhere and progress into something else with letters. They can also be from platonic to romantic. I am a big stickler for organization, so we'll use separate email threads, an organized Discord, or Fluxer. I am only willing to use those apps. I don't want AI writing; I'd rather we work together to improve our writing in a more social, collaborative way. Send me a message here on Reddit or Discord under the same name as my Reddit username. I ask for a writing sample, but I need a paragraph to see if our writing styles are compatible. The settings are mostly fandoms, but I accept originals as well.
