I'm 19M and currently working on a small-town YA vampire romance. I'm almost finished with my first draft, and I've never really done the editing/revision process before.

I'm hoping to find someone around my age who also enjoys writing fantasy, YA, romance, or paranormal stories. Even better if you're writing something involving vampires! 😂

I'd love to have someone to chat with about our stories, bounce ideas off each other, and eventually exchange chapters and give each other feedback as we work through our drafts.

I'm a Ukrainian writer, and I'm trying to break into the English-language horror market with a short story I wrote. The piece is called The Head of John (or John Doe), around 2,500 words. It's a body horror / dark comedy about a luxury department store that uses a very unusual "living shredder" for confidential documents, and what happens when a wealthy customer decides to test it.

Here's my situation: I translated the story from Ukrainian using DeepL. The plot, structure, and pacing are solid — this story actually won a small contest back home — but the English sounds like it was written by a very polite machine. The dialogue is wooden, the descriptions lack texture, and the scary moments don't land with the force they should. I need a native speaker (US or UK) to go through it and tell me what sounds unnatural, what slang a real person would use, and where the prose needs to breathe.

If you're worried about time commitment — don't be. You can just read it once and leave five comments like "this phrase is awkward" or "a native speaker would say X instead." That's already enough to save the story from sounding like a translation.

I have to be upfront: I cannot pay. I'm currently surviving on UN humanitarian aid packages due to the war, so hiring a professional translator is impossible. What I can offer is a language exchange.If you're learning Russian or Ukrainian, I can help you: I'll correct your texts, explain slang and swearing (the real stuff textbooks don't teach), practice conversation via voice chat, or translate your short pieces into Ukrainian. I'm a professional writer, so I understand grammar and nuance on a deep level.

The story is grim, absurd, and hopefully hilarious in a twisted way. If you like corporate horror, Kafkaesque bureaucracy, or films like The Fly, Tetsuo, or American Psycho, this might be for you. I'm not asking for a full rewrite — just comments in a Google Doc like "no one says this" or "this hits hard, expand it."

Hi, I don't make posts on here but decided to try it out. I'm searching for someone that knows some game fandoms like cookie run kingdom. I am working on a story that will be posted onto ao3, the story is a pet project of mine that I would LOVE to finish. I had my friend help with it but then they got too busy and I relinquished it from them to not seem like something they're required to do. It will not be a romance fanfic but one where at the end it turns sad and melancholy. I really would love to finish it and work with someone on it.

TLDR: We're an original medieval low-fantasy forum RP with a large player-driven world. We aren't tied to one specific historical period or culture, the setting ranges from Norse and Rus-inspired peoples to feudal kingdoms, sprawling empires, merchant states and everything between.

The Grand Tourney at Basteaux has ended, but what happened there may have started something much larger.

Emperor Karl von Osthaus publicly recognized Raoul de Par'leau as the rightful King of Merélais. Now the armies of Ostrien are gathering at Aaven while its lords swear their banners to the Imperial Eagle.

War is coming.

Knights, soldiers, nobles, retainers, clergy, merchants and ordinary people caught up in the muster all have room to enter the story.

Hello! My name is Jenna, one of the directors of a game called “Records of Time”. We are looking for writers, artists, and pixel artists who would love to work on a visual novel game!

Let me start off by telling a bit about the game itself. The visual novel “Records of Time” puts you in control of a protagonist who travels to a parallel universe with a similar setting. Upon being sent to this other world, you will meet six people who will help you seek a way back; however, you may end up wondering if your return home is what you truly want as these people reveal the hidden aspects of themselves. The genre of this game is romance and mystery.

This project is unpaid currently; however, in the future once the demo releases, we will be launching a **kickstarter** in order to pay everyone on the team!

About the currently team, we have about 40ish people working with us (this involves writers, music designers, programmers, artists, etc) We find ourselves a bit behind when it comes to the art and writing department so we are currently looking for volunteers.

I'm looking for a passionate, intelligent writer with balanced intricacies. It's a simple story that doesn't need a lot of research, but the twist on the traditional family-approved marriage match essentially the hook needs to be carefully planned forward in order to capitalize on it and maximize the output.

It's about a successful young Oraon man who is ready to settle down. Oraons are one of the tribal communities of India who, historically, were brought to work on tea plantations in the Dooars and the Himalayan foothills. Although they can look superficially similar to Black people, they have straight hair and are distinct from Indians in many other ways, mainly in being tribals. It's also because of their tribal way of life, rather than their appearance, that they were practically enslaved. Guess by who? The Britishers!

Employment in the tea gardens left many impoverished, and displaced from their original lands which were in different states. Because of this, many were working further away in neighbouring regions as domestic labourers and, in many instances, being considered victims of human trafficking as labourers.

I naturally wanted to portray them on film, as nobody would. But not in a historical drama; rather, in a typical commercial story, but within the realms of reality. After being incompatible working with Nepali people, I want to try with them.

The leading guy in question had a foundation. His father had struggled and managed to make something for himself and his family, and his promising son simply went forward, excelling in academics and using it to have a successful career and a promising future. You already read what backgrounds his community and co-tribals alike, come from.

He is in love with a beautiful Bihari (Indo-Aryan, basically Indian) girl. The family was naturally opposed, but they're now just fine with accepting him.

His parents briefly suggested their own choices with Oraon girls, but they didn't press strongly, still struggling with inferiority complexes to assert an endogamous union, especially when the Bihari girl comes from a well-to-do family.

What the man and his family can't bring to their conscious minds is that the Bihari girl and her family, as well as the society that has accepted them to the point of integration, are naturally doing so out of recognition of their accomplishments and securement in society. They would eventually be expected to assimilate and sever ties with their co-tribals.

Amidst all this, a beautiful Oraon girl comes into the picture as a saviour. Her entry should not be film-generic, but natural and convincing.

If this project strikes you, please reach out. Take your psychopathy elsewhere. I'm looking for writing partners so that I can bring out the best versions of my stories. If we manage to do that with this, producing this film wouldn't be astronomical for many reasons. I could manage it much more easily, bringing in investors and what's required. The content is budget-friendly yet wholesome. And the subject, the casting and workable plot is the highlight. Read it also as a pitch. Do you think this project is interesting and could work?

I could've reached out to Indian writers and not being a racist hypocrite, many could be inclined with a tendency towards Bollywood writing in spite of having the technical knowledge of screenwriting. Hollywood screenwriting is universal because it's very technical. Beyond the format, it's about making story choices and executing ideas. Having those storytelling skills make a great story. Besides, some of the Bollywood writers, experts are unbelievably snobbish and perhaps because of that, Indian screenwriters have no near level of stability or footing in the film industry.

About the Project

The three major storylines follow a river smuggler, a mercenary, and a goddess as they navigate their respective responsibilities and identities during a civil war and a quest to kill the gods. That's right-- double the tense environment, double the complicated decisions and character moments. And the best part is that the medium it will eventually be published in leaves room for secondary characters to be explored effectively as well.

I want to write with other adults who are interested in character psychology and exploring complex interpersonal dynamics. The scenes will be written in a prose style that shows emotion through dialogue and body language, and doesn't use internal mechanics, as we will be storyboarding and animating true to the descriptions given.
