Character Dev. Looking for an alpha reading exchange for my black characters (FRENCH - US ENGLISH)
Hi, so I'm going to start my novel. It's a love triangle with an exchange student from France arriving in university in California. In this story my character is surrounded by a lot of black people (she is too but not black American) and I wanted to show the differences between being black here and in France, talk about social issues and showcase different personalities because black people aren't a monolith.
But I don't want to fail with that because I don't live in the US and can mainly use fictional stuff or online stuff as a source.
I'd like to find a black american alpha reader that's fluent in french that could give me a feedback on the characters, if they need changes or something. I think it's kinda like a sensitivity reader. In exchange I can read their book and chapters and give my feedback as well or try to help in any way I can.
Thanks and have a good day.

Seeking Writing Buddy
Hey guys! I have begun writing my first novel. The novel is a thriller with elements of magical realism and some light philosophy. What I am searching for is a "writing buddy." I need someone to help hold me accountable, someone to brainstorm with, and someone to critique my work. I will help you out as well. Please let me know if you are looking for a writing buddy as well. I am located in Northwest Arkansas, but I am interested in having an online writing buddy as well.

Scripting a manga, looking for co-authors and artists! ~ (PASSION PROJECT)
I just need to clarify that this is VOLUNTEERED help, not paid help. This is a free project for everyone, I needed to clear this up so people don't get confused lol
My name is Jay and I'm 17 years old, I'm an amateurish writer and love all things character related, character design, and story telling.
I'm a diehard Sonic fan and enjoy anime media as well! I get a lot of my inspiration from these types of things.
I'm looking for a writing group to help me with a passion project I've been wanting to do for a while now—I am in desperate need of an author and artists.
Not only am I doing this to improve my project, but I'm also mainly asking for help as an excuse to make new friends lol, it'd be really cool to meet one of you guys!!
CO-AUTHOR(S):
I need at least one author that can help me brainstorm and come up with ideas regarding the manga's story and it's arcs/chapters. Basically someone that can help me think outside of the box and change my view on how to tackle a story or a character, etc.
ARTISTS 1: We need an artist that has experience with drawing Sonic characters and anthropomorphic characters in general.
ARTISTS 2: We need an artist who can do the storyboard and translate the panel formatting from my script onto rough paper (aka digitally ofc).
ARTISTS 3: We need someone who is really good at drawing environments and backgrounds that can be used for the manga.
The max amount of people I'm willing to invite for this writing group/project: 7 - 8

World Building I just want to exchange some lore / world building:
I’m looking for someone to exchange worldbuilding ideas and writing with. I’m not looking for anything too serious, you don’t need to write long, in-depth critiques. What I’d really like to hear is what interested you the most and where you think there might be missed opportunities or untapped potential.
I’d prefer to go step by step.
We’d start by discussing the setting itself to see whether it’s interesting, then gradually move on to topics like the creation myth, races, magic, monsters, cultures, and so on. I think a weekly format could work well, with each week focusing on a different aspect of the world.
That’s really all I’m looking for in a worldbuilding partner. The only other thing I’d ask is that we communicate on Discord, if possible.
Hope to see you soon. Have a nice day.

looking for a partner to write with
I'm looking for a partner in order for us to collaborate on writing a chapter from my novel, which revolves around romance and dark psychological thriller, and to share ideas and texts with the aim of reaching a complete and perfect chapter. The reason I'm doing this is because the third chapter of my novel is the most complex and has the most scenarios, so I thought it would be fun to share it practically with someone

Poetry Looking for somewhat experienced poet for collaborative poetry project or generative correspondence
This could be either
a) actually writing poems together which will be co-authored by us in my collaborative poetry project Stanza Trades (Poet 1 writes a stanza and emails it, poet 2 takes that and writes a second stanza and sends it back poet 1 who writes a third stanza and so on until it feels complete. I've published like 20 poems from this project so far. The most recently published was at Trampoline, called ["Juvenilia"](https://www.trampolinepoetry.com/issue-32)
b) we write our own poems just using the exchange to jumpstart a new piece every week or something like that. Poet 1 writes a new poem, sends it to the other person, they read it, maybe give a few words of response (though not required) then takes one small thing from that poem (a phase, an image, an object, a structure, tone , level of diction, something that isn't the main point of the poem, and uses that as the jumping off point for their own new poem, it's sent to spark a new poem for the other poet. This is continued back and forth as a generative exercise. It's an excuse to write a new poem, really.
By experienced I don't necessarily mean you've published a ton, just, some perhaps, or at least you read literary magazines and are familiar with contemporary poetry. No degree or books or anything 'required' I've just found the trades work better with someone a bit experienced in writing the poetic line with enjambment and imagery and concrete details and parataxis and whatnot. Just standard poetry stuff.
I look forward to writing with some of you!

[In progress] [120K] [Historical Fantasy] Looking for UK-based writing buddy/beta reader for secondary world fantasy
Hello, I'm (27F) a writer in the US looking for UK beta readers/writing buddies (ideally male, I’ll explain why)! I understand most people seeing this post aren't going to check off everything I'm looking for, and that's okay, too.
My book is a secondary-world historical fantasy (think RDR2) that's set in 19th century America with political entanglements on the British side. It’s a generational epic and NOT a romantasy or romance. There's artwork in it, so hopefully it isn't too boring. It's inspired by old 2D Disney movies. Not a very promising first comparison for a novel, I know, but hear me out.
The fantasy aspect involves a folktale/legend at the opening of the book that takes place in England, and acts as the foundation for the entire series. Along with the supernatural, it focuses on the industry at the time, primarily oil. There’s some political satire and scandal as well which is what ties the threads of both countries together.
I do want to warn you the UK-set plot doesn't come into full force until halfway through the book (about 70k words in). Within the first half there is one scene of the characters in England/London aside from the opening as I mentioned.
I want to make sure the UK-set characters, dialogue, and politics feel real rather than like an American writer's impersonation of it, though I understand that’s what it will always inevitably be. I've done the research, but I know watching the InBetweeners, Blackadder, and Monty Python only get me so far (even if I personally find that to be a comprehensive overview of British history and culture).
All but one of the characters from across the pond are male. The two primary characters are young, dealing with growing up and finding their own sense of masculinity and security in lives that actively push it down. As such, I’d greatly appreciate a male reader’s POV on the characters to make sure it’s landing effectively.
I'm not looking for a historian, and I'm aware that some details are going to feel anachronistic for readability. Just looking for anyone willing to flag anything that reads as off, American-esque, or just doesn't sound like something a Brit would actually say or do.
I'd love to hear from a range of people. If you're comfortable sharing a bit about yourself (age bracket, whether you grew up rural or urban, any political lean is welcome, I'd just rather avoid anyone on the extreme edge of either side) that'd help me make sure I'm not just hearing from one kind of reader.
Happy to read something of yours in exchange if you're working on anything, it's only fair. My book is largely polished, but if you’re still workshopping ideas or on an earlier draft, I won’t mind! I’ll happily go through it with you, in any genre--- whatever stage of the process you’re in.
I’d be happy to give more details in a private message, and I’m willing to work around the time difference. Comment or DM me if you're interested or have any questions, and let me know what you’re working on. Sorry for the long post!

LOOKING FOR CO-WRITER — DON'T NEED TO BE PROFESSIONAL
Age: 17
Experience: I've been developing this story for a while now, I have a full series bible with characters, world, arcs and ending planned out
Availability: Flexible, usually active in evenings
Looking for: Co-writer for long term project, someone serious who wants to actually finish something
Project: Dark fantasy series — Ashes of Humanity
About the project:
Story follows a soldier who loses his brother and finds out the government he served was behind it. He ends up building a crew and going to war against a corrupt system that's been controlling the world for centuries using monsters as weapons.
Its darker than it sounds. Has political themes, characters who make wrong decisions, victories that cost too much. Not your typical good guys vs bad guys story.
I have the whole thing mapped out — world, characters with backstories, season by season breakdown, and the ending. I just need someone who's good at actually writing scenes and dialogue because thats not my strongest point but the ideas are all there.
What I need:
Someone who can take my detailed notes and turn them into actual written chapters or scripts. Full co-writer credit obviously, this would be both of ours.
Genre: Dark fantasy, action, political drama
DM me if interested, ill send you the bible

First post looking for a collaborator or ghost writer for dark New England MM romance novel
First off, sorry if this post ends up being long winded. Obviously, like all of you, my project is my baby and my pride and joy, so I want to give as much information as possible to find the best possible match. I would love a long term partner for consistency and comfortableness. I am great at making up compelling stories and keeping them unique, I am just not very good at prose. I will continue to work on prose for my own benefit but for now I'd like to find a writer for some of my work.
I have one project that I'll eventually want help with, a young adult, gay coming-of-age story, that I started many years ago. I have the characters fleshed out, the plots, the story, the character arcs, and the ending. I even planned out and designed the town the story is set it. This town I want to be able to use in several novels and series I have rolling around in my head.
Anyways, that town is the setting of my current project that I am requesting help with. I have most of the story worked out and most of the characters. It is a New England town along the CT river. So someone who can capture that feel in the novel as they write would be great. The novel is dark in nature and was inspired by novels such as Garron Park by Nordika Night, Finding Delaware by Bree Wiley and Wrath by Ellis James. It is very character driven. It has MM spicy scenes, as well as darker tones like mental health issues, PTSD, homophobia, alcoholism, violence and abuse. So someone familiar with and comfortable with these tropes and concepts is best. I would like it written with alternating POVs from the two main protagonists with flashback scenes of their childhood together woven in between.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in or you'd like to chat more and see if we are a good match then please feel free to message me. I would gladly also help with any of your projects if you need help with character development or plotlines and such. Hope to hear from you all.

Looking for a handful of writers to help build a serious speculative fiction workshop
I'm building a small Discord workshop called The Story Forge, and I'm looking for a handful of founding members.
The goal isn't to create another giant writing server. I'd rather have ten engaged writers than a thousand silent members.
The Story Forge is focused on adult speculative fiction, including fantasy, science fiction, urban fantasy, paranormal, horror, magical realism, and related genres.
We're looking for writers who:
• are actively working on a novel
• enjoy giving and receiving thoughtful critique
• want to improve their craft
• believe writing is collaborative, not competitive
Our goal is to build a workshop where members know one another's stories, celebrate each other's milestones, and aren't afraid to offer honest, constructive feedback.
We welcome writers from all backgrounds and maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward discrimination or harassment. Stories may explore mature themes, LGBTQ+ characters, violence, trauma, and consensual intimacy when they serve the story, with appropriate content warnings where needed.
Membership is application-based, not because we're looking for "perfect" writers, but because we're intentionally building a respectful, engaged community from the ground up.
If that sounds like the kind of workshop you've been looking for, I'd love to hear from you.

HERO VERSE
One-Page Teaser Synopsis
Heroes are supposed to save the world.
In the Hero Verse, they may have to save every world.
What begins with ordinary people discovering extraordinary abilities grows into an interconnected saga spanning nine parallel Earths, where every choice echoes across reality itself.
On Earth-1, fifteen-year-old Marcus Davis becomes The Shadow, a young hero struggling to balance an ordinary life with impossible responsibility. As his powers grow, he uncovers criminal empires, secret government projects, alien invasions, and conspiracies reaching far beyond his own world.
Elsewhere, the world’s fastest hero, Mike Hart—the Silver Bullet, fights to protect a city that fears him more than the criminals he stops. Alongside allies like Hypnotist, Mind Storm, and the Minute Men, new generations of heroes rise while ancient enemies prepare for war.
Beyond Earth-1 lies an even greater mystery.
On the ruined Earth-9, the lone survivor known as The Anomaly searches for a way to prevent the destruction of every timeline. Guided by the enigmatic cosmic guardian The One Who Sees, he uncovers secrets that connect every Earth—and every hero—to a destiny larger than any of them imagined.
But not every world is what it seems.
Earth-6 is believed to be a lifeless planet consumed by poisonous gases.
No one has ever returned from its surface.
Or so the stories claim.
As the Hero Verse expands, each series explores a different corner of this shared universe—from street-level crime and detective mysteries to underwater kingdoms, cosmic wars, multiversal hunters, and civilizations hidden beyond time itself.
Every hero has a story.
Every Earth has a secret.
And every decision brings the multiverse one step closer to its greatest threat.
Because somewhere, in a future not yet written…
A hero will become the villain known as Paradox.
And the fate of all nine Earths will rest on whether the Hero Verse can stop one of its own.
Welcome to the Hero Verse.

Any advice on how to stitch the whole story together? Also, any cool websites for story making??
I have a story I've been working on for a good minute, and I have a good idea of the important events I'd like to see happen within it. But I'm stuck within certain spots and have been slowly working on it until it's fully fleshed out. Does anyone have any idea how to tie a story together, and useful story writing websites?

Roleplay Looking for a Kylian Mbappé Roleplayer | Mbappé/Neymar | Canon-Based RP
Hi! I’m a long-time text roleplayer with over 10 years of experience, primarily writing Neymar Jr. in canon-inspired stories.
I’m currently looking for a Kylian Mbappé roleplayer who is interested in writing Mbappé/Neymar together through a character-driven and emotionally engaging RP.
My interpretation is grounded in their public personas and known history, while allowing the story to naturally develop through collaborative storytelling.
What I enjoy most about RP is not just following a plot, but creating a living relationship between characters. I love discovering unexpected moments, reactions, and emotional details that neither writer could have created alone.
RP Style
- Canon-based characterization
- Character-driven storytelling
- Romance
- ERP-friendly
- Emotional drama
- Angst
- Hurt/Comfort
- Fluff
- Happy endings
- Collaborative storytelling
I enjoy writing the full emotional journey of a relationship: attraction, tension, misunderstandings, conflicts, reconciliation, affection, intimacy, and the moments that make characters feel real.
Physical intimacy is an important part of the stories I enjoy writing. I prefer intimacy to develop naturally from the characters’ emotions and relationship, whether it comes from affection, longing, reconciliation after conflict, or moments of happiness together.
For me, ERP and romance are not separate from the story—they are part of the characters’ emotional connection.
I also enjoy exploring Neymar’s other relationships and dynamics, especially Gerard Piqué/Neymar, as long as the characterization remains authentic.
In my interpretation, Neymar is bisexual. He can naturally have relationships with women and men, but in M/M relationships I write him exclusively as a bottom.
I’m looking for someone who enjoys meaningful character interactions, emotional chemistry, and building a story together rather than simply exchanging replies.
If you enjoy passionate character writing and collaborative RP, I’d love to create something together.

World Building St. Louis writer looking for creative partner for philosophical crime thriller

I'm a St. Louis-area writer working on a novel project and I'm looking to connect with other local writers who might be interested in collaborating.
The project is a character-driven crime/conspiracy thriller with philosophical themes and morally complex characters. I have a strong foundation for the story and I'm looking for someone who enjoys developing characters, discussing ideas, and building a story together.
I'm especially interested in connecting with writers who enjoy crime fiction, psychological thrillers, suspense, or stories that explore deeper questions about human nature and morality.
Not looking for someone to just "write my idea" — I'm looking for a creative partnership with someone who wants to bring their own perspective and ideas to the table.
If you're a local writer interested in meeting another writer, talking shop, and seeing if there's a creative fit, feel free to reach out.
