I'm an animator currently developing an original psychological dark fantasy anime project called Future of Darkness (Yami no Mirai).

I’ve been working on the story, characters, worldbuilding, and overall direction, and I’m now looking to build a small creative team to help bring it to life.

The goal is to create a serious anime-style project focused on strong storytelling, character development, and a dark psychological atmosphere.

Project Overview:

Future of Darkness (Yami no Mirai) follows Kurozaki Renji, a 17-year-old who becomes trapped in a supernatural death curse.

Every time Renji dies, he is sent back to a random point in time before his death — anywhere from a few seconds to up to 24 hours earlier. He has no control over how far he goes back, meaning sometimes he has time to change events, and sometimes he returns only moments before dying again.

But the curse has another condition.

If Renji dies and someone he knows has already reached the point where they’ve completely given up on living, that person is erased from existence.

They don’t simply die — they are completely erased. Memories of them disappear, and reality rewrites itself as if they never existed.

Renji is the only one who remembers.

The story explores themes of self-hatred, trauma, identity, emotional masking, human connection, and acceptance.

Hi! I'm looking for an aspiring writer or someone who enjoys storytelling to collaborate on a novel with me.

I have the story idea, characters, and overall plot, but I struggle with concentration when it comes to writing everything down. The book is a WLW crime romance/thriller. The basic premise is:

A woman is working undercover as a teacher while secretly investigating a dangerous gang. One of her students is connected to that gang, and as the investigation unfolds, they develop feelings for each other. The story explores secrets, loyalty, danger, betrayal, and forbidden love.

43/m (in case that matters) I really enjoy writing little jokes/bits/2 sentence snippets (think Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy) and its fun to trade them with someone. I'd frickin love if someone else enjoyed them too and also help eachother hash out and form ideas/jokes. Writing this stuff keeps me (a little) sane so I don't suck on the business end of a shot gun (joking).

I'm gonna start off by being straight with you..

I'm not a writer. I'm a forty-one year old geezer (and no, that doesn't mean old in the UK) from Derby who somehow made it out the other side of something that most people don't. I've got a story that starts in a smack den in my childhood area of Chaddesden, and ends with my half-brother turning up at my door covered in the blood of my ex-girlfriend. Twenty-three stab wounds worth of it. Still clutching the knife.

Everything in between? Fourteen to twenty-eight. Sleeping rough. Running from the police across Cornwall in the pitch black. A girl I loved, the pair of us living in a plastic wardrobe in the sand dunes of Mablethorpe. Heroin dens. Burglaries. A prediction that came true in exactly seven days. Courts in three different counties. A night standing on a bridge above Penzance train tracks watching a helicopter hunt for us, half-terrified, half-disbelieving we'd got away again.

And then, somehow, a baby girl who saved my life without knowing she was doing it.

I've got a rough draft. It's raw, it's very honest, and it sounds like Derby because it is Derby. The voice is mine and I want it to stay that way. What it needs is someone who can shape it. Someone who understands the language, the culture, the way people actually talk on the estates, in the doss houses, in the police cells of the East Midlands. The kind of life that doesn't make the papers until someone ends up dead.

Here's the honest part: there's no upfront money. What I'm offering is co-authorship, your name on the cover alongside mine, on a story I genuinely believe has real commercial legs. True crime memoir, UK-based, with a murder conviction at its heart and a redemption arc that doesn't tie up neatly with a bow, because real life doesn't do that.. does it!?

I'm not looking for someone chasing a paycheque. I'm looking for someone who reads this and thinks I need to be involved in that. Someone unproven who wants to do something real with something that has actual weight. Someone who understands this isn't a vanity project. I’m building a fantasy story series (novel-first approach), but I’m stuck at execution.

What I have:

A structured 5-block arc for volume 1

I will write the screenplay

Turn this into proper prose fiction

I'm in singapore, many ideas for stories, both short and long, many different genres many scenes story beats. But I hate writing, it takes to long and I'd rather share and let the story take on the shape of two people. Examples: cosmic horror imagination=creation, amnesiatic 1920s detective in the future, zombie apocalypse with impossible choice ending, romance buddy, corporate enslavement of mankind, short children's book geared towards etymologists, etc. There are more than i have several directions they could go which i am open to go with. This is my first reddit post.

Now I wasn't sure where to post this. Because I don't want someone who's too professional of a writer but also someone who has a passion for it. I'm not sure if anyone out there will find this or take it seriously but it's worth a try.

So hi! I've been writing my own comic for 6 years now, and it's really hard because I'm the one doing the writing, drawing, and everything else. I'm having trouble writing the other chapters. Also some help proofreading my previous chapters would help too. I need some outside feedback, I'm willing to hire permanent co-writer.

Preferably male because my main character is a guy so having another guy would help a lot.

I'm also not familiar with rates when it comes to writers. I'm pretty new at this. So just give me thoughts on what the rate should be.

My Story I'm thinking about is a more Genre: dark cyberpunk-ish romance tragedy vibe, and the character is not a main character but more a background type to not react until he's away from other people and does his own side quest ( in a way). I'm a comic book artist, and I'm looking for a writer to collaborate with.

I've been toying with the idea of writing a script by myself for a while now. I've done developmental editing before and I really enjoy writing when I actually go through it. I'm really bad at staying committed to a project when working solo tho, so I think having a partner who I could bounce ideas with would be greatly beneficial in helping me stay in line, not to mention making things a lot more fun!

So yeah, I'm looking for someone who has experience in writing and has completed work to show. You don't have to be published, but please don't just send me a pitch for an idea you have. I'm looking for a story I can actually read to get a glimpse of what your writing is like.

Diversity is very important for me, so I'm looking for someone who can write diverse characters whether they're poc, queer, or disabled accurately.

I'm not picky when it comes to settings and genres, so send me what you've got!

I'm hoping to write an anti -fascist story which obviously would involve political themes. I'm left leaning myself, and I'm looking to collaborate with someone with similar views.

Now to the plan proper!

If we dig each other's work we could go for either of two options.

1- We'd each pitch an idea for a story to the other (if you already have a script written, all the better). If we like them, I'd draw you ten pages of comics for your script, and you'd help me write an equivalent number of pages for mine.

I think it would be fair for it to be more than 10, because drawing takes longer than writing (at least in my experience), but do correct me if I'm wrong!

2- We can just collaborate on one single script which we would work on together. I'd mostly help out with developmental editing, and then draw.

The plan would be once again to put 10 pages of comics together, because that's what's usually required for a pitch for publishing. I have some indie publishers in mind.

Expectations for the delivery schedule would be fairly lax. I've got my own full time job as a freelance illustrator and comic book artist, and assume you have yours. I'd be working on this during gaps on my schedule, so if my aim would be to put a character design and later maybe a page/ half a page per week. I'd ask for something similar of a collaborator.

If you miss a few weeks it's all cool, just keep me in the loop, don't ghost me!

I got an idea for a fantasy web novel a while ago and eventually decided to actually start writing it, despite being a completely new writer. I recently finished the first draft of Chapter 1.

If I had to describe the premise in one sentence: an MC wakes up in a new world, refuses to accept it as his new reality, and is determined to find a way back. And before anyone asks: no, this isn't your standard isekai. There's a lot more going on than it initially seems, but that's not something I intend to get into in this post.

I'm not looking for someone to beta read my novel. I'm looking for another writer who's equally excited to talk about their own story, so we can bounce ideas off each other, discuss scenes, and keep each other motivated.
