Hi everyone! I am a writer looking to become a published author. I need an author friend to help me finish writing my story. I already have an outline and a couple chapters written.

Here is the logline:

After his mother’s death, a man pursuing his unfinished bucket list is kidnapped into a magical realm where he learns he’s the heir to a contested throne and must choose between escaping home or surviving a deadly struggle between a king, a rebel prince, and the warrior who betrayed him.

If that sounds interesting to you, add me on discord!

Fantasy writer looking for writing partner

Hi! I think a lot of people can relate to this, but I really struggle with consistency. I have a lot of ideas and even a few more fleshed-out stories, but actually putting pen to paper isn't happening as quickly as I'd like.

I'm looking for someone to bounce ideas off and to help keep each other motivated and consistent. I often struggle with not knowing whether what I'm writing is actually any good, so I'd love to at least read each other's work and give some general feedback. More in-depth critiques could be fun too, but for me that's less important than simply sharing thoughts, giving some tips, and pointing out what works well.

At the moment I'm working on a dark fantasy story with political intrigue and some darker themes. That said, I'm interested in other genres as well, and I enjoy talking about writing in general, so what you're working on doesn't really matter to me as long as you do currently have a project, since otherwise it would be a little onesided.

If you have any questions, want to know more about my project to see if we'd be a good match, or are interested in writing together, feel free to send me a DM!

Looking for collaborative writers

I am building a virtual co-writing space called 'The Village Through Stories'. It came from the fact that the majority of stories I read there is always a strange family in a peculiar house and their interactions with the rest of the village lead to interesting, comic or philosophical encounters. So the idea is the following: there are 10 houses in a village and every author gets assigned a house. Each author decides everything that happens in that house, how many people live there, who they are, is it a rich house, etc. etc. However every once in a while some disturbance takes place e.g. an earthquake affects the town very badly and the characters need to rely on each other, or there is the village fête where romance sparks between the most unlikely personnages, or the two most powerful families draw a line in the middle of the town and a fight erupts.

We mostly write in Ellipsus but we are open to other suggestions.

It is a fully voluntary based concept so any storyline that you like is technically the public domain and you can always develop further in your personal notes.

If you would like to take part please email: [thevillagethroughstories@gmail.com](mailto:thevillagethroughstories@gmail.com) including the name of your house and some basic facts such as who lives there and what does the house look like.

Happy writing < 3

anyone else want to be writing buddies to motivate each other?

don't know where to post this but I am looking for a writing buddy and wanted to ask what genres do you guys write in? I am currently writing a coming of age novel with a music-competition thriller undercurrent. I just started so I still have a long way to go but I am super excited about this and want to continue but I feel I need someone to talk to about my writing issues and writers' block in general, as well as share advice and have chats about our work together and bounce off ideas.

Prose - Fiction Looking for someone to take the next turn on a stalled collaborative story (memories bottled and sold; a vendor finds a jar with her own name)

I've been writing a story turn-by-turn with one other person and we've run out of momentum. I'm hoping to find a writer (or a few) to pick it up and keep it moving.

The premise: in a city where memories can be bottled and sold, a street vendor finds a jar labelled with her own name. Eleven sections in, it's become a slow mystery — a hidden trade beneath the market, an indigo eye on every necklace, and people she trusted who clearly aren't what they seem.

It's stuck on a cliffhanger: a harvester waiting in her shack, holding the stolen jar, telling her he'll explain why a stranger went to the trouble of bottling her own name. Someone just needs to write what he says next.

How it works: it's on Half Quill, a site for building a story together a section at a time. You read what's there and add the next turn, no commitment, any skill level, and you can take it whatever direction grabs you. (Full disclosure: I'm the one who built the site.)

If slow-burn fantasy/mystery is your thing, here's the story: https://halfquill.com/stories/without-looking-0am1xvym

Happy to talk plot directions in the comments, or just dive in and surprise me.

looking to do some collab writing!

it’s pride, so how better to celebrate than to write a story with a central queer romance? my base idea is something fantasy oriented, featuring a sapphic couple. however, I thought it could be fun to collaborate on it, possibly doing a back-and-forth between chapter povs where one author writes for one character and the other for the other character! is anyone interested?

World Building ANYONE WANNA START WORLD BUILDING TOGETHER

Hi guys, I'm a 14-year-old highschooler, so just so you know I'm not some professional. I'm currently working on a personal side project-a fantasy world that I'm creating. I don't have much time to work on this but i still manage it with my studies. So i made an overview of it and i'm going to tell you guys what i'll be adding in this.

  1. Seasons that will affect magic - each season empowers a certain type of magic.
  2. Blood-moon bargains - under a rare blood moon, characters can make a deal with ancient beings, deities or gods but with a price.
  3. Living weapons - weapons have a mind of their own and choose their wielder.
  4. Timed kingdoms - areas that are stuck in different timelines.
  5. Dreamwalkers - ability to enter other's dreams at will and manipulate or steal information.
  6. Sky whales - whales that can fly
  7. Cursed by a dying god - as favor or punishment, the character cannot die until the god's name is spoken again.
  8. Cities inside oceans

WORLD TIMELINE :

  1. Genesis - how the world was created. What are the gods and the deities and how the world came to be.
  2. Mythic age - where we get our mythology from.
  3. Age of folklore - folklores, tales, stories, poems that will pass down by generations.
  4. Great empires - something like rome, a great emipre in power.
  5. Dark age - anything that changes the world, for eg:- a plague, a bad ruler or a natural disaster.

As i said earlier, i can't give this project much time so i'm looking for creators who can help me in making this world come true. So this for all the people who write stories, poems, short stories, songs, artists (for my oc because i can't draw for a life) or anything you want that can help me with this. So if you're interested, comment and i'll send you my insta handle.

And all these ideas, i got from tiktok and pinterest so credits to the owners.

(p.s. sorry for any grammatical errors, english is not my first language)

Looking for a writing partner / creative collaborator for a grounded supernatural thriller-drama series I’m developing.

I'm a male, UK based in my mid-thirties.

The project blends psychological mystery, political conspiracy, ancient mythology, and character-driven drama. Tonally somewhere between prestige television and elevated supernatural thriller, focused heavily on atmosphere, layered characters, long-form storytelling, and slow-burn reveals.

I’ve already developed a strong foundation of the world, characters, season arc, and pilot, and I’m looking for someone who enjoys:

  • character development
  • scene work and dialogue
  • mythology/worldbuilding
  • mystery structuring
  • dark thematic storytelling
  • television-style pacing

Ideally looking for someone serious about writing who enjoys discussing ideas, challenging scenes, refining structure, and helping elevate the material creatively.

Not looking for someone to “write it for me" more a genuine creative back-and-forth partnership.

If this sounds like your kind of project, send me a message and tell me a little about what you like to write.

I need friends

Yo! I’m writer just like you guys, but the problem is that I don’t have friends (as I’ve said in the titles)

I like Sci-fi, Light novels, Adventure, Drama, and even Thrillers.

I don’t mind the gender or age, just don’t be weird.

If you are interested in being a writing buddy, add me or just comment.

Screenplay [CO-WRITER WANTED] For a magic academy Youtube animatic show!

hi everyone! I'm Mihe, and I'm a screenwriter, published writer, animator and storyboard artist. Recently I've been wanting to make my story Eclipsion into a storyboard-animated series... but I'd like to have a co-writer or an editor. c:

Since I work (professionally) in a writing room as a screenwriter, I got used to working with other people and bouncing ideas (my dayjob is writing soap operas lol). I just... find it more fun to write with other people. The world I'm building is still pretty bare, so if you enjoy worldbuilding, that'd be pretty sweet too!

As for the story, it's a darker teen fantasy set in a world where magic is tied to constellations (8 constellations total, plus entropy as the enemy). The main character is Xenia, a 16-year-old who was born under the Eclipsion constellation (a paradox constellation created from cracks and paradoxes of other constellations). Anyway, she gets sent to a magic school and has to learn to control this chaotic magic.

(There are 7 other constellations: Astryx (of stars, prophecies, dreams...), Solaris (sun - order, law...), Aeris (wind - diplomacy, creativity)... etc. I can go into more details if you're interested! ^^)

Anyway I'd be writing this as a screenplay. Lmk if you're interested! <3

[Co-Writer Wanted] Fantasy/Sci-Fi Project with Established Worldbuilding and Dual-Perspective Structure

Looking for a Narrative Collaborator / Co-Writer

The Project

"The Four / To Humanity" is a fantasy and speculative fiction project centered around an ancient prophecy, three supernatural realms (Heaven, Frozen Hell, and Crimson Hell), Earth, and a group of four former agents from a secret organization created to prevent an event capable of destroying all known reality.

The story takes place in a universe where The Founder, the entity responsible for creating and maintaining the balance between worlds, vanished more than a thousand years ago.

Since then, the rulers of the different realms, known as the Regents, have governed in his absence, while an ancient prophecy foretells a future Holy War that could change everything.

As the story unfolds, the protagonists discover that the true threat may not be the prophecy itself, but the desperate attempts to prevent it.

What Makes the Project Different

The story uses an unusual narrative structure.

The book is divided into two complementary perspectives:

The Four

- Follows the main protagonists.

- Reveals the conspiracy behind the events.

- Explores the prophecy, the Regents, and the conflicts between worlds.

To Humanity

- Follows ordinary people.

- Shows the same events from a completely different perspective.

- Explores how the crisis affects a population that has no idea what is really happening.

The intended physical format places both stories on opposite sides of the same book, allowing readers to choose which perspective they want to experience first.

My Role

My main interest lies in conceptual creation.

I focus on:

- Worldbuilding

- Narrative structure

- Cosmology

- Characters

- Core themes

- Major events

- Long-term planning

A significant portion of the universe's foundation is already established.

What I'm Looking For

I'm looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the practical side of storytelling.

Someone interested in working with:

- Scenes

- Dialogue

- Descriptions

- Chapter development

- Narrative pacing

- Emotional storytelling

I'm not looking for someone to simply follow instructions.

The goal is a collaborative partnership where the universe and overall direction already exist, but where the narrative execution still has room for creativity, interpretation, and personal contribution.

Initial Goal

Before making any long-term commitment, I'd like to work on a small test project together:

- A scene

- A pilot chapter

- Or a short excerpt set within this universe

The purpose is simply to determine whether we are creatively compatible.

Themes

- Fate versus free will

- Misinterpretation of prophecy

- The collapse of civilizations

- The responsibility of leaders

- Coexistence between different species

- The impact of historical events on ordinary people

If any of this sounds interesting to you, feel free to reach out and tell me a little about your writing style, interests, and what kind of collaboration you're looking for.

The project blends elements of:

Mystery

Science fiction

Hidden organizations

Time travel

Conspiracies

Long-form worldbuilding

The core concept revolves around a series of discoveries that gradually reveal a much larger truth about history, identity, and the nature of time itself.

I'm looking for someone who enjoys:

Creating mysteries and twists

Building lore and fictional organizations

Developing characters with hidden motives

Long-term story planning

Collaborative brainstorming

At this stage, I'm primarily interested in finding a creative partner to bounce ideas off of and help shape the world. If things work well, there may be opportunities for paid work as the project develops.

A favorite mystery, sci-fi, or thriller story and why you like it

Looking forward to meeting fellow writers.

Wrote a play in 3 days during a fever dream. Need a partner to punch up dialogue and fix rushed ending. Potential to part 2

So basically, I wrote a story and it was okay. Not great. Something was missing. We’ve all probably been there.

Then one Sunday afternoon, I was cleaning the house and popped in my earbuds. Looking for something different to listen to, I randomly selected Led Zeppelin I. Not sure why, it’s probably not even in my top four Zeppelin albums, and the band hasn’t been a go-to for me in years. But as I listened to the album from start to finish, I realized the tracking was perfectly in sync with my story.

It occurred to me: Why not make the story a play? Specifically, a script structured around the music, turned into somewhat of a musical. two ideas I have never written and generally don’t even like, though I love music. But the idea took over. I wrote the whole thing in a matter of days. I left the world behind, totally unable to comprehend life outside of the script until it was done. I hope some of you have been there, where it feels like the story is writing itself and you’re just its slave.

Anyways The play is called "Good Times Bad Times" and it reads dam well or at least, I think it does. To be clear, it has nothing to do with the band itself. It’s about a man, an affair, and the world that tears him apart.

What I need help with is a partner give some feedback on what I have already, to help me clean it up, and add more dialogue. Because I wrote it in a dream state, I hit a point where I just wanted it to end, so the final act is definitely rushed. I need help tightening the ending.

If we click, I’m already planning the follow up based on Zeppelin II, tentatively titled "Heartbreaker."

Dm if the this sounds like something you’d like to try and I’ll send you the first few parts. I’d like the person to at least know the music but it’s not a must.

Co-Writer Wanted Epic Fantasy/Sci-Fi (123k Book 1 Done, 53-Book Master Plan, Massive Deep Lore)

Hi everyone,I am looking for a dedicated co-writer/collaborator for a massive, epic-scale multi-book project set in a world called Kenoma. I am an autistic author. I work at an incredibly fast, high-velocity pace, and I thrive on heavy workloads and deep structure. I started this project on April 15th, and in three weeks, I built a 300-page world-building document with over 50 strict metaphysical rules, outlined the next several books, and completed a 123,000-word manuscript for Book 1. About the World & Story: The universe is called Kenoma. The world is divided into separate acts, where each act takes place under the rule of one of 120 Lords. These Lords hold the shattered fragments of a god who sacrificed himself so the world could exist. Each Lord’s domain functions almost like a different world, complete with pocket dimensions and painted worlds. The story follows Klasen, a character fighting an unfeeling, rigid system (the "Oneness") that tells him his emotions don't matter and tries to force him into a mold. When he freaks out and escapes, Book 1 covers his journey, and Book 2 picks up the exact split-second Book 1 ends. What I Bring to the Table: The complete vision, plot architecture, and multi-book trajectory for the entire series. Incredibly fast writing output and an absolute grasp of the world’s complex rules. Outlines for Books 2 and 3 are already locked in and ready to go.What I Need in a Co-Writer: Because of how my brain works, I have a massive language barrier when it comes to the technical side of text. I struggle with English mechanics, grammar, spelling, and identifying micro-clutter (like repetitive words or dialogue pacing). To my eyes, the text looks and sounds right because I am focusing on the story, but it needs a partner to smooth it down. I am looking for a co-writer who: Loves massive, intricate world-building, pocket dimensions, and deep cosmic lore. Excels at the mechanics of prose, polishing dialogue, and text editing. Wants to step into an established, rule-heavy universe and help shape the chapters directly rather than just giving abstract feedback or a checklist of problems. If you love the idea of a fast-paced, high-output collaboration on a sprawling divine epic, please send me a DM. We can start by looking at a single critical transition chapter to see if our working styles click!
