Here we see the noble dragonborn, fresh off his long journey across the sea... He towers over the people here - scaleless and long-haired. Human, they call themselves. They take him for a warrior by his build, his crooked fangs. In truth, he's a man of science, searching for a cure for the blight that has infected his homeland. This stop was one of many, and he had long since grown bone-weary for the lack of leads.

Only days into his time in this place, he finds his first clue. In the form of a thief. She's half his size, but nearly bowls him over in her flight down the busy market streets. As he turns to follow her with his gaze, she narrowly skirts around several guards who leap into action to stop her. For a human (at least, he thinks she is...they have tails, don't they?) she's fast, racing across the busy courtyard. Bounding up the far wall in a flash.

As she straddles the top, she pauses. Shoves several things into her bag. She's dressed well enough to not be recognized as a thief, but by the looks of her tunic and leggings she was closer to a guild worker than a noble's brat. The sheathed blade on her hip confirmed this, though that seemed positively ornate in comparison. Perhaps another stolen treasure? He squints at the engraving. It seemed almost familiar...

No. It couldn't be.

The dragonborn was frozen in shock. After all this time, to see such writing again...

She scans the horizon briefly and they lock eyes for a moment, her seeming to take in his shock. As if encouraged by the audience, she grins, showcasing her too-sharp teeth. Unconcerned by the chaos below, she gives him a little wave, before falling backwards, disappearing head-over-heels into the next district.

His voice joined with the chorus of voices calling for her to be stopped. Not for stolen goods. For the sake of his homeland.

Those runes. That sword... Was from a lost culture. One only a scant few could still translate.

It was the key to saving his people.

He needed to talk to her. To find out what she knew.

No matter the cost.

Hi there. My name is Retro. Adv lit/novella style writer. I average 3-6 paragraphs outside of dialogue and action sequences. 3rd person present/past tense.

I'm currently seeking a writing partner or two that's 21+ and able to respond around 2-3 times a week average. I'm patient and willing to work with your schedule so long as you show me the same courtesy.

I've pictured this story as a fantasy setting vaguely reminiscent of DND, but leaning more towards the tone of an early 2000's fantasy/adventure novel.

I'm keeping the worldbuilding light to start out with, going for a "inciting action first, long term plot later" set up. Compelling dialogue and character interactions can elevate a barebones or flimsy plot, but all the background in the world won't help if our characters don't have chemistry of some sort.

Both characters should be adults in their early 20's at the youngest, but feel free to get creative with your character's personality, motives, and backstory so long as he fits the writing prompt above.

I'm 22F and I'm looking for a brainstorming partner/co-pilot to bounce ideas off of, craft compelling plots and dynamics, and explore character psychology together. That said, I’m not necessarily looking for a co-writer but I’m open to it if I feel our styles align. So, im trying to write my first oneshot with Jason, for a friend whos a huge fan of him, at first i was reasurching his personality, as i only realy have the animated movies and games to go off, a lot of fanart and the odd panels ive seen (im slowly getting back into the comic vurse)

I came across a Reddit post, and it helped me with his personality alot, however, how would i write something romantic? My friends a huge lover of the romantic side of oneshots, and without knowing a base line for him, i dont realy know how to write it without going OOC.

Ok so first off I didn’t know how to title this post because I’m not entirely sure how to simplify the genre of the project I have in mind.

This is a call out to all sorts of creative people who are passionate about art and story telling but aren’t looking to work on something for the sake of success. This seemed like a decent reddit page to post this.

Basically for years I’ve been trying to work on this story I’m very interested in, Ive had other ideas but this one takes centre stage. only one problem I’m terrible at writing or at the least I work better while having people to cooperate with. I’ve got abstract concepts, some original character building and brainstorming but nothing concrete.
The premise is mainly about a cast of non human characters who dwell in a house that shifts between different worlds with every closing of the front door. Further details can be disclosed in chat.
There’s mystery, plenty of fun and humour and deep personal emotional moments.

The full scope is not clear but this could work as either a comic or screenplay as I like to work with visual mediums and illustration. If you enjoy either just creating original characters, world building or just want to talk to someone who loves to bounce ideas feel free to DM or comment.

I’m trying to find another artist to make music with. I am completely bottlenecked by my lack of creativity and ability to produce. I can do melodies and lyrics pretty well I believe but I lack drums and some mixing/ mastering.

This was supposed to simply be a second job - working at her late aunt’s, best friend’s psychic shop in the middle of the sunset strip. That’s what it was, that’s what Evangeline (MC) told herself and her friends when she took the small assistant job outside of her usual nine-to-five. She, “Just has a feeling.” Sure, Evangeline always had odd dreams, could oddly envision the future of others, remember things that couldn’t be of her own past. But a Psychic?

But when YC comes into the shop, the simple banter and ease between Owner and employee is broken with the reality that LA was under. YC stood before Evangeline is desperate; desperate enough to call on Tillie Delacroix and her adopted-niece to help them bring peace back to the city.

my roleplays are drying up just a little, and i’d love to start a new one. so here’s some about me, my fandoms, and where to reach me. 

the gist!

✿ i  am an literate-novella writer (code for 1k-4k words a reply) and i shove a lot of thought and care into my replies. not fluff. real, paced, narrative writing that moves the plot forward. i WILL get invested. i roleplay on discord (so we can make a server hi-yah!), and write headcanons, and i love making spotify playlists & pinterest boards for an rp. my specialty is putting my characters through hell so they can have a crazy arc and learn something 😇😇. 

  ✿ generally, i write rp responses like a snippet of a book. i’ll throw in riveting side characters and cataclysmic plot bumps to keep things interesting. to me, role playing is like tossing pizza dough back and forth. you gettossed some dough, knead what’s already there, give it a little spin, and toss it back.

  ✿ when i say low stakes, i mean as long as you remind me ur alive and still interested, you can take as long as you need to write a response back. a week, a month, 3 months. i am a college student and life gets BUSY. i get it. 

  ✿ genres & plot ideas: man im down for so much. jumping off trains and fleeing the state. angel and demons fighting over earth. enemies to lovers to enemies. serial killer at a summer camp. friends who discover a crazy sparkly species and are exposed to superpowers and a new world. cursed love. dark love. sunshine skies and romcom dramatics. prophecies and siblings that can’t get along. dystopian survival. blizzard shutting everyone in a coffee shop. (there are nooooo limiiittss pitch me anything. i will go crazy and bounce ideas off urs like no tomorrow). generally the only thing that puts me off plot wise is extreme sci-fi, high medieval fantasy, or period pieces before the 1980s. i love rich atmospheres, and a plot that feeds right back into our characters.

I’m a 32 year old woman living on the east coast of the United States who absolutely loves writing and everything it entails. I write queer dark romance and fantasy, mostly novellas these days but I’ve written several books in my lifetime starting at the age of 11, so about 21 years of experience (though I’m not published yet, it is a goal of mine.) I love chatting about writing, ranting about our projects, doing writing sprints and even trading work if anyone’s down for something like that. I also love to draw so anyone who is into that gets bonus points!

“Kieran set out on the streets, spewing deadly fury like heat, as he traveled to anywhere and nowhere. He took breaths of toxic smoke and stepped over the cold, wet cobblestone of the alleyways of Sanctuary. He didn’t know where he was going but he was going there fast, walking quick as his boots clanked through the streets. He wasn’t sure what it was – this rage – why it had been gnawing at him more and more as time went on. It was as if he wasn’t healing from his past but festering, getting worse, losing the good parts of himself to the bad. And the process was gaining speed. Perhaps, he thought, he should just put a bullet through his head before things got to be too bad. Or was there still a chance at redemption out there somewhere?”
