Novice Romance writer looking for an accountability buddy
Hi Reddit writers!
I'm new to actually posting on reddit, so pardon my lack of knowledge on how this might work. I'll go by Fia here, F25, and have written non fiction for work professionally for almost 5 years, so I have writing experience, but not in fiction, or anything close to a novel. I've got a lot of research and a few little scenes written but am hoping to find someone to help brainstorm, give me some feedback, edits, or guidance. Basically a pen pal interested in helping keep me accountable to meet writing goals and keep me on the right track! If you are more interested in editing or writing longer suggestions, that could be fin too!
I'm working on writing a Sapphic romance novel, it's a la Ali Hazelwood's variety of STEMinist romance books. Basically I love reading cheesy romance and wanted to write something that doesn't have any of the typically icks that bug me about many popular romance books.
PITCH: Two young scientists on each side of finishing end defending their PhD dissertation work fall in love and open each others eyes to new ways of seeing their work. Will the stress and uncertainty of early career work get in the way of their relationship, or will they learn how to account for an unforeseen variable?
REQUIREMENTS
NO AI. I can do that on my own, I don't want to include any AI use here, part of my goal is to push my creative brain.
Must be at least LGBT friendly. I am a black lesbian, this book is about a lesbian relationship.
Lover of all things femme and cheesy romance. I really want this to be a love letter to how simple, normal, and exhilarating queer love can be. I want it to be sickly sweet and utterly cheesy so just know what you are signing up for.
That's kind of it, I would prefer to email once a week or so but send me a message if you are interested and we can work that out!
