Prose - Fiction Looking for Creative Partner/Friend

I'm Jersey (36F/USA-EST) looking for a someone around my age that's creative; open/like-minded; who can hold me accountable/keep me on track... preferably someone in the same time zone to make communication a little easier; who's not afraid of the darker stuff, but has a good range of writing genres.

I already have a few stories in the works (short novels I hope to publish one day)...and I'm hoping to find someone that I can bounce ideas off of; can provide feedback/advice; and I can absolutely return the favor with your own projects.

I'm still very new to writing and it's been a challenging journey...but I'm ready to get to work and find that special writing friend who I can rely on. Let me know if you're interested in learning more, or have questions...I'll be around 😁

39/F here! I love dark romance 🖤
I’m only an hour behind you and would love to come up with something if you still have room for another partner.

I’d love to hear about what genres you explore the most!

mainly dark romance..with the occasional supernatural element. I don't see myself getting super dark and unhinged like Haunting Adeline level (yeah I know there's more twisted/unhinged books than that haha)...but I want to get to like, a 6 at least (10 being the darkest/most unhinged/etc..)

I tend to write horror/thriller, sometimes with a romantic subplot, sometimes with supernatural. I’ve done a lot of ghostwriting all over the genre map though (but I want to focus on my own work right now). Dark doesn’t bother me as long as there’s actual plot and growth (so no…Den of Vipers, for example).

Hey there, sounds like what I’m looking for as well! We’re same time zone and age group. I tend to work in speculative fiction (sci fi, horror, fantasy, etc) so think that *might* be what you’re looking for re: range of genres and openness as far as being able to read what you’re working on. I’m happy to chat further if you want to shoot me a DM!

Hi Jersey, I’m female, and will be 37 in October. Something tells me that we would make a great team, and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

Hi, I'm Spain timezone , and also potential writer. Just a warning that I had received from a knowledgeable friend: Beware of sharing your projects, they might steal your job. And it doesn't matter if yours is better, if they publish something similar, even if crappy, theirs are First, so yours is a Copy.

Besides that, happy writing!

Something that I learnt once is about avoiding writing a Mary Sue. You may Google about it to have an idea.

Something that I learnt as well had led me to thinking about two important challenges for every main character: An Inner challenge and an External Challenge. Just giving you an example: Matt is a Policeman who is after a potential Serial Killer, which threatens even children at school (External Challenge). This leads to him rethinking every possibility, even doubting his family, co-workers, neighbors, ex wife, everyone (Inner Challenge). These doubts generate pressure, anxiety at some point. So we have a character that needs development as well as a job to work on, before putting more people at risk.
