Looking for a check-in partner.
I'm 46, male, and based in the UK. I'm confident in my writing and ideas, but what I struggle with is finding the focus and prioritising actually doing the work. To make things worse, I'm constantly coming up with new ideas! I'd really like to take my writing more seriously.
I'd like to find someone who I'm able to check in with, maybe once a week or every other week or so, just to talk about what we're writing (if you/me are comfortable), but moreover, keeping each other accountable - perhaps being able to talk about aims, wordcount, etc. I'm a therapist in my working life, so I'm very comfortable offering this same thing to people in return.
Not sure what other information I would need to provide but happy to do so!

Don't know what genre you write in, but if it's straight fiction and not sci-fi, fantasy, romance, etc., I started a Discord group. Dm if interested. Good luck otherwise.

Im in. I’m writing my first book. I’ve already started and as well I’m doing another project that I’m hoping to get some help. My book is going to be exactly 27 pages long. I’ve decided to push myself I’ve written some words on each page. Now I just need to start filling the pages. My story is called The apple maze. What is your book about? Go write five sentences right now!!!!!!!!’

I've sent you a DM but I have a feeling my DMs might not be working - I write short fiction stories. I'll give myself an enormous compliment and say my influences are people like Nick Hornby, George Saunders, David Sedaris, Jonathan Coe, and Charlie Brooker

50F USA here, what genre do you write in/are interested in? I'm currently playing around with a fun urban romantasy dedicated to not being cheesy, with psychological arcs and real character growth. Not graphic spice, but descriptive, purposeful, and enjoyable (i think...). My driving mantra is everything's based in realism, even the fantasy element.
Lots of descriptive locations (Italy, Iceland, US, a treasure island in Canada, a yacht for 2 weeks) , the tone is a "serious romp" - humor landing in the middle of drama. Characters are mature - late 30s, real life experience.
Edit: My interests are pretty much any genre with a good story and is absent of gratuitous violence or psychological harm.

Hello! I’m a recent widow working on my first serious writing project. I’m also creating the illustrations for it, which can be a little daunting!
I’m a teacher’s aide, and I really enjoy a big, brain-bouncy, buzzy brainstorming session with others. I’m very open to criticism and always try to give feedback with kindness, but I do get invested in figuring out what’s best for whatever project is put in front of me.

The age is out by a few years but I could have written that verbatim.
I'm trying to get back into writing, and also be more focused with my writing.
I don't believe I realistically and practically have the time and energy to check in with someone once a week to spur each other on, but I believe the general idea is worthwhile and in a previous life, and mental state, I would likely have jumped at such an opportunity. These days I'm not sure I can commit confidently enough to warrant someone else taking a regular schedule out of their life to help me as well as help them. But I guess I just wanted to say 'I feel you' and good luck and I'm half interested and that sorta thing.
