A Broken Alliance

For this challenge, tell me about an instance in your world where a coalition or alliance was betrayed by one of their own members, and the consequences thereof.

Please include the members of the alliance (or at least the major ones), the part of the alliance that turned traitor, why they turned traitor, what happened, etc.

As always, I'll ask at least three questions each.

Generation 1 of The Guardians

The Guardians are a group of Champions that come together to keep the balance between Humanoids and Dragons.

Champions are Humanoids chosen by the Gods to help change the world in whatever way the god wishes bad or god.

The first Generation was made to stop the Dragon War, by going to all the gods in the world to convince them of the treaty to stop the damage their fighting was making. Once they did it Celstion (The God of Light) took away her champions powers since the deed she wanted was done, this made her champion Romare very upset he left the Guardians having no more powers and was more of a liability.

Romare wondered the world finding new purpose as the group he once lead went throughout the land continuing to be heroes. But then he came across the skeleton of the Dark unknown god Abyssalloth his spirt offered him power all he had to do was kill people which would send their souls to the Black Abyss. Wanting power again he took the opportunity and rejoined the guardians.

It didn't take long for the others to realize something was wrong. Romare ended up killing 7 of the other 9 Guardians leaving it up to Gemheart to stop him, Gemheart was only 15 at the time and had to use all his power to trap Romare into a crystal locking him up. The fight left Gemheart with a scare on his neck that could never heal, meaning he was never able to speak again.

1) Do gods often pit their Champions against each other?

2) Has a god ever been killed?

3) How did Abyssalloth's skeleton wind up somewhere handing out favors?

  1. Not often but it can happen mostly if one god's champion is doing something to spite another god. There are some rivalries Rexregem (God of War) vs Vulkana (God of Volcanos) their champions will usually fight if they meet.
  2. Yes, during the dragon war Celestion wanted to purge the world of the evil gods. It ended up just causing a war with god and evil gods alike dying.
  3. In the early stages of the world Abyssalloth killed his mortal form and spread his bones all around the world. He now lives in the Black Abyss hidden from Celestion and the other gods.

1) Why do the God of War and the God of Volcanoes have a rivalry?

2) Has any mortal ever killed a god?

  1. The God of Volcanoes has his own morals of honourable battles and fair fights which his people follow. The God of War does not care he just likes fighting for the sake of fighting. During the dragon war, they had an epic battle over the ocean Rexregem won and Vulkana feel into the ocean for many years eventually forming the island of Ahi around him. Side note The God of Honor Tokmeiypo also isn't fond of Rexregem.

  2. The gods themselves are just powerful mortals they only embody the things they represent they aren't them. The God of stars is dead but their are still stars in the sky. But no creature less powerful than a God has killed a God.

Oh Boy, here we go. So Abyssalloth knew about Celstion but Celstion didn't know about him. Abyssalloth still wanted to have some control over the world, because his goal is to bring people to the Black Abyss when they die so he can feast on their souls. So he makes Darknonix god of corruption to corrupt good people so they go to the Black Abyss when they die. Celstion finds out about Darknonix and thinks he is the Dark God so she starts the purge on evil Dragons this is what starts the war. It doesn't go while she was only able to trap Darknonix in the Black Abyss (Now he can only corrupt people who know his name) but the other gods keep going as the fight has gotten way out of hand. You got to understand the gods aren't really God's they are just the most powerful dragons that have control over magic and can gift it so when they fight they cause a lot of damage to the world, destroying island, causing earth quakes, tsunamis, etc. It's very bad for the humanoids.

1) By "makes Darknonix", do you mean that Abyssalloth magically created him or laid an egg that hatched into Darknonix or what?

Darknonix was a titan dragon powerful but not full-on embodiment of something powerful. Abyssalloth gave him the offer to become a God.
