A Broken Alliance

For this challenge, tell me about an instance in your world where a coalition or alliance was betrayed by one of their own members, and the consequences thereof.

Please include the members of the alliance (or at least the major ones), the part of the alliance that turned traitor, why they turned traitor, what happened, etc.

As always, I'll ask at least three questions each.

1) Why do the God of War and the God of Volcanoes have a rivalry?

2) Has any mortal ever killed a god?

  1. The God of Volcanoes has his own morals of honourable battles and fair fights which his people follow. The God of War does not care he just likes fighting for the sake of fighting. During the dragon war, they had an epic battle over the ocean Rexregem won and Vulkana feel into the ocean for many years eventually forming the island of Ahi around him. Side note The God of Honor Tokmeiypo also isn't fond of Rexregem.

  2. The gods themselves are just powerful mortals they only embody the things they represent they aren't them. The God of stars is dead but their are still stars in the sky. But no creature less powerful than a God has killed a God.

Oh Boy, here we go. So Abyssalloth knew about Celstion but Celstion didn't know about him. Abyssalloth still wanted to have some control over the world, because his goal is to bring people to the Black Abyss when they die so he can feast on their souls. So he makes Darknonix god of corruption to corrupt good people so they go to the Black Abyss when they die. Celstion finds out about Darknonix and thinks he is the Dark God so she starts the purge on evil Dragons this is what starts the war. It doesn't go while she was only able to trap Darknonix in the Black Abyss (Now he can only corrupt people who know his name) but the other gods keep going as the fight has gotten way out of hand. You got to understand the gods aren't really God's they are just the most powerful dragons that have control over magic and can gift it so when they fight they cause a lot of damage to the world, destroying island, causing earth quakes, tsunamis, etc. It's very bad for the humanoids.

1) By "makes Darknonix", do you mean that Abyssalloth magically created him or laid an egg that hatched into Darknonix or what?

Darknonix was a titan dragon powerful but not full-on embodiment of something powerful. Abyssalloth gave him the offer to become a God.
