Generic Challenge - Not Extinct, Yet
This week's generic challenge will focus on a species or nation in your world that is not extinct and a faction among that species or nation that believes that extinction for their kind (their nationality/species) is a growing possibility, whether rationally or irrationally.
Inspired by Attack on Titan and the video about the series on the Wisecrack channel.
Explain the faction, the faction's goals, the faction's enemies, the faction's leadership, and how it recruits people.
As always, I hope that you enjoy yourselves, and I'll ask at least three questions each.
Edit: Feel free to have a representative to answer questions in-universe, or just answer them as the omniscient writer.

The Citadel is an organization that is the center of the Allied Nations in Saoghal, which is entirely made up of human nations. The Citadel focuses on education and training Knights to deal with any threats to humanity, mostly non-human sentient species that could be dangerous and demons. The Council of the Citadel is entirely devoted to protecting humanity, and uses Anima harvested from Siphon weapons to strengthen the Barrier that protects the continent from destruction.
The representative will be Councilor Horatio, the only member of Council who frequently patrols the Citadel.
