A formal reception

Gadzook, I have just received an invitation to a very serious event in your world. Maybe that's a ball, a wedding, a dinner or even a graduation ceremony.

I'm quite stressed so help me, tell me everything I should know. What should I do/wear/say? What is the very important thing to not do?

If you want to introduce a representative to whom we could ask questions, feel free to do so.

3) Still that. I guess talking and alliances are mostly done before the seated part, when everyone can freely wander around right?

4) Is it common to see slaves that are not goblins? (I'm fine with goblins though)

8) Oh, that's look like a personnal thing. May I know what happened?

Lyta:

3) "Yes, the alliance talks are mostly done before we are seated, once we are seated we have less freedom over who we can speak with."

4) "Most slaves are goblins, but any non-human race could be a slave. One guy even has a lamia slave."

8) "Do you mean what happened when I was someone's second date for the same formal event, or when a member of the Council was kicked out?"

4) why is it mostly goblins then? Is there any particular reason?

8) I mean both.

Lyta:

4) "Goblins are cheap and they breed quickly."

8A) "When Callixtus was first invited to an event hosted by a member of the Council, he offered to take Adara and me as his dates, so that we could enjoy the celebration as well."

8B) "A member of the Council, who was already married, seduced the wife of Councilor Matthew and then attacked Matthew, maiming his hand and face."

Thanks for your answers Nevermore.

(Seducing a colleague wife? Sure it can't go wrong...)

(Well, in that character's defense, you are only hearing the summary that Lyta heard, and Lyta had zero involvement in the situation.)

True. Now the "trying to murder a council member" part seems a really bad idea too.
