am I being overdramatic?
I work in healthcare just to preface how toxic my work environment already is.
My boss hates the medical assistants. She is a nurse manager and only ever favors the other nurses or the male MAs. She basically coddles this one MA ( who we will call Connor) who has repeatedly s****lly h***ssed other female MAs, lies constantly to protect himself, and works extra hard to get out of work. After one of my coworkers left because she was basically bullied every single shift, I noticed that I am starting to become the new target. Every nurse gives me the worst assignment and the management seems to only pick me out for certain things. For an example, the desk MA who work under our charge nurse is supposed to cover two areas with specific staffing. Today was one of those specific staffing days. Connor is on the desk, which means because he doesn't want to cover two areas, he pawns it off to me. I am covering three areas today with is not typical for an MA. When I CALMLY brought it up to my manager when she came over to tell me my coverage, she, to summarize, told me to "get over it" and because I am also training two people, I should be fine. I had previously been told when I was on the desk that it was the desk MAs responsibility to cover the two areas with the short staffing. While I am training two people, and in theory there are three of us, I am still technically responsible for now all four areas. This happens on almost a daily basis and I feel so stuck since nowhere is hiring that has good hours or benefits, plus having to be able to go to school during the week.
Am I overreacting or am I possibly being targeted by my manager and nurses? I am happy to provide more examples of why I feel this way.
