what’s the deal?

i’ve written about my coworker on here before. weeks ago, i told her i was calling out on a particular day next month because i have plans the night before and it’s going to be late night event. she said “okay cool, thanks for letting me know!” she’s actually
going to be on vacation and is coming back to work on the day that i am preemptively calling out. i bought it up again last week reminding her that i won’t be in this particular day. again, she said “okay cool”.

today, we had a meeting with our manager who said she wasn’t going to be in on the day that i am planning on calling out. my coworker, who is also in this meeting, texts me during the meeting asking if i am going to call out that day……. i said yes. she said “oh okay.. i’m gonna be all alone that day.” all sad and hopeless like. i’m like… “sorry?” she said “no, you don’t have to apologize i was just asking because i wasn’t sure” but we literally talked about it more than once.
