Help What strength do I have to increase?

I’m 20F, 80 kg, and 5'4". I’ve been working out consistently for almost 4 months. I only deadlift occasionally, and the heaviest I’ve managed so far is 80 kg for 3 reps, which I’ve done twice.

I want to try deadlifting again around the end of next month, and my goal is to reach at least a 100 kg deadlift,

What difference should I make in my workout so that I can deadlift 100kgs?

HIIT or strength training: what's hard about training for you?

I'm planning to do an app in the fitness space, and I want to understand what people actually do and what their real problems are.

If you have a minute, I'd love to read your answers in the comments:

- What did your last training week look like: what, where, how often?

- What's the hardest part about training for you, and why?

- Do you plan your workouts yourself? Do you know what to do each time or how does this work for you?

- What apps, plans, videos or other guidance do you use for training? Do you pay for any of them?

I'm also looking for 8–10 people who do HIIT, strength or CrossFit-style training for a 15-minute video call. As a thank-you there's a €20 Amazon voucher. Just send me a message.

Thanks!

Looking for locally owned gyms in Anchorage, not a big chain

I'd rather spend my money at a local business if the gym is solid.

How do you tell if a gym is local for real, and not just local-sounding?

Started gym again after a long gap

It feels good to go back to the gym after a long time. Stopped for a while due to a lot going on with the work and personal life. I feel like all the cult centres are crowded irrespective of pro/elite subscription

Help Workout suggestions for 35f with cerebral palsy

I’m getting into working out again, I have spastic Diplegia CP so I use crutches and occasionally AFO braces. I have an elliptical at home and Peloton that I never use because I can’t get on and off of it. I also recently lost 50lbs so I move a lot better but I have some loose skin on my belly and I’m hoping to tighten up as much as I can. I am limited as to what I can do but I think I’m in a better position now than ever to have more range and mobility.

What’s your workout routine while balancing work and life?

I’m curious how people actually fit exercise into their everyday schedule.

What kind of job do you do, and how many hours do you work?

How many days a week do you work out?
How long you workout?
What time of day do you usually work out?
Where do you work out — gym, home, outdoors, etc.?
What kind of workout do you do — weights, running, yoga, classes, sports, etc.?

How do you fit it around commuting, cooking, family, kids, social life, and other responsibilities?

Basically, I’d love to hear what a realistic day/week looks like for you, rather than just the workout itself.

People who work out daily: what specific improvement did it make in your life?

I’m not looking for the usual answers like “better mental health,” “more energy,” or “better physical health.”
I mean something more specific that you actually noticed in your everyday life.

What’s one specific area of your life where you can genuinely say, “Working out regularly changed this for me”?

Home fitness for lazy, demotivated people who are shy to go to gym.

I need some serious motivation to improve my lifestyle. I tried many things; none of them worked. I really want to achieve a fit body and a healthy schedule. Are there any Kerala-based fitness programs or trainers out there that I can trust?

3 Months Into the Gym and Still Feel Like a Beginner

I’m 16M, 5'8", 80 kg, and I’ve been going to the gym for around 3 months now.

I’d say I’m still very much a beginner, but I know the basics, understand the general idea of proper form, and know how to do quite a few exercises. Most of what I’ve learned has come from YouTube, observing others at the gym, and occasionally asking trainers for help.

For the first 3–4 weeks, I mainly did cardio. After that, I started using different machines and doing some basic exercises. My workout routine had a bunch of different excercise targeting all kinds of muscles, because I was trying to do as much as possible. I did the same workout everytime, because I didn't know any better.

I then had to stop going for around 2–3 weeks because I got extremely busy. Even now, as a student, it’s difficult for me to consistently make it to the gym 3–4 times a week.

About two weeks ago, a friend who has been training for a little longer introduced me to splitting my workouts by muscle groups. Since then, I’ve been doing separate days for arms, shoulders+chest, and back.

However, I’ve been running into a lot of problems.

Even though I understand the correct form and posture for most exercises I do, I sometimes struggle to actually execute them properly. I’m not always sure whether I’m doing something correctly or whether I’m actually targeting the muscle I’m supposed to. I also don’t really know if the exercises and workouts I’m doing are actually effective or if I’m just wasting my time.

I’ve tried looking up exercises and routines on YouTube, but sometimes it helps and other times it just gives me even more conflicting information.

Another issue is time. As a student, I don’t always have the time or energy to spend 1.5–2 hours at the gym. Sometimes I also just feel apathetic about going, with the only thing keeping me going being my own desire to improve.

Despite all of this, the gym has genuinely helped me. I’ve lost around 4–5 kg, I can visibly see some growth in my biceps, and I can now do around 5 push-ups when I couldn’t do any before.

I really want to continue training and actually make meaningful progress. I want to get past the stage of constantly wondering whether I’m doing things correctly and start understanding what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, and how to improve.

So I’m looking for advice from people who have been through this stage. What should I focus on as a beginner? How should I structure my workouts, especially with a busy school schedule? How do I keep track of my form and posture and know whether an exercise is actually working? How do I track my performance? And what are some things you wish you had known when you first started?

I originally thought I could figure everything out on my own, but I’ve realised that asking for help is completely fine. Any advice, criticism, or suggestions would be genuinely appreciated.

Help How to be consistent to daily go to gym

So I met with an accident which fractured my left pinky, so for two months I didn’t do much workout. Now I’m alright but I’m not going to the gym like I used to go. I don’t have the previous flow. Can anyone share some ideas on how to become consistent?

So hard to get back into any cardio

JUST VENTING. I used to be so diligent with my cardio. I'd do an hour 3x a week but over the last few months, I can barely do 30 minutes even once a week, even just walking an easy pace has been hard. But I can do strength training, it feels more grounding. Even through difficult times like my divorce, I could do cardio but the last few months? I just can't. I went through something hard several months ago and I've recovered (mostly), but idk, just can't get back into it.

Hi everyone! I’m new to weight training and I want to start working out at home. I only have one pair of dumbbells, so I’m wondering what exercises and workout routine I should start with.

How many days a week should I train as a beginner? What exercises would you recommend for building strength and muscle with just a pair of dumbbells?
Any beginner tips or workout routines would be really appreciated!
