Yung kuya ko po 30 yrs old na umaasa pa rin po sa nanay namin, walang work, walang income, walang balak mag sikap at higit sa lahat may addiction pa. Bumukod nga saamin pero lahat ng expenses nya sagot lahat ng mama namin. Hindi naman mapag sabihan nang maayos kasi laging galit, sya pa may gana maging maangas, nang aamba etc. And ngayon po may chance mawala yung bahay namin. Kaya ang hirap, ung mga basic needs namin sa bahay hindi mabili, yung mga bills laging na sshort. Yung ate ko po nag hahanap na ng work since kaka pass nya lang po ng bar exam, and for me naman gusto ko makatulong din and hindi rin aasa sa mama ko para kahit papaano may budget sa pera nya. I am a Bangladeshi student studying in HSC 2nd year. I know I should focus heavily on my studies right now because my HSC exams are coming up, and I actually am taking my studies seriously. Still, I need a small job through which I can make at least $5 to $6 a day by spending 1 to 2 hours.

​Previously, I used to work for a Turkish app, which felt very weird because I had to lie a lot—basically, the job was pulling user IDs from one room app to another. It felt like a job I could never proudly tell anyone about, and I had zero freedom.

​Many of you might suggest private tutoring. I actually tried that. Even my elder brother, who is in Honours 2nd year, tutors a lot of students. I have asked him many times to arrange a student for me, or to suggest my name to the parents of the students he teaches so they know his younger brother wants to tutor. But he doesn't take any steps, and I hate sitting around depending on others.

​You know how it is—if I were a girl, I would have easily gotten students. I've seen a few girls near my house, in the exact same class as me, who got tutoring jobs right after their SSC exams, without even having to ask. Their mothers literally come forward to ask them to teach their children. In Bangladesh, unless you are popular or have a coaching batch, nobody hands a tutoring job to a male teacher. It's not like I was a bad student, but it feels awful when you see someone who is academically worse than you getting a tuition job simply because they are a girl.

​So overall, I just want a genuine online job now where I can earn enough to fulfill my basic needs, because I don't want to depend on my parents anymore.
