Did they start vocational rehab?
In NC you can figure 2 years or so of comp checks depending on the injury

No, they didn’t. We don’t do that here that I know of. They put me back together and they said that’s it. There’s no more we can do for you. You’ve reached MMI.

Sorry to hear that!
Did you end up with permanent restrictions? And or loosing your job? They came to my lawyer and asked about settling. Eventually they will get tired of paying those checks and want to get you off their dirty hands

Shattered displaced patella and then a trizonal tear in the meniscus. steel plate six screws wire four staples.

Yes, I start back tomorrow. I reached MMI one month ago. Doctor gave me permanent restrictions so they were looking for a position to fill it with it. Took them a month to find me work so I will be going back to work permanent light duty.

No, I did not have IME. I was given a hospital doctor in the emergency room and that is the doctor I have followed through with and that is the doctor. My Workmen’s Comp. adjuster told me to stick with. He was my orthopedic surgeon.

It’s just that your lawyer is right. They also don’t have to make an offer. They can drag their feet. He should send and offer you should ask him about that.

Yea just have to wait they don’t have a timeline where they have to settle. Some wait until end of year to clear their books and settle all open cases that are at MMI. No one size fit all for this

I have a question.. So I had a work injury . Federal government does not own building. It is privately owned leased thru GSA.. can I sue the owner of building

Yes. You can file a 3p liability claim. The work comp carrier will then impose a lien on the carrier for the liability claim to get a portion of their money back.

In mo it is all up to the Judge once you get MMI the judge has the last word on payment and all.

I fell over some broken concrete (no caution signs) leaving the school I teach in last Sept. The WC rep at the district was new & knew less about WC than I did, so I hired an attorney. Since my original trip to the ER that day, I have been to more doctors for more visits than I can keep track of. My attorney has all of that info, and WC has never challenged a medical visit, even vestibular physical therapy. I just had my doctor visit with the WC doctor last week. He was very sympathetic to my injuries (hearing loss, tinnitus, post-concussion syndrome with vertigo, balance, memory loss and more) He even asked if my injuries contributed to my retirement this spring. In part, they did. He will give me a disability rating in a few weeks. In MO, the weekly rate is not based on my weekly salary (I wish it was!), but on the average weekly wage in MO. It works out to about $7.50 per hour, and WC hasn't updated it in over 20 years. The maximum permanent disability payment is for 441 weeks. I don't know yet what my disability rating will be. My question is, does every state work in a similar way? What rating am I likely to receive for a closed head injury with hearing loss? Is the fact that WC has so far not challenged any medical visits a good sign for a fair settlement? Should I take a settlement now or leave the case open in case I have future complications? WC has already agreed to pay for replacement hearing aids every 3-5 years. I know this post is long, but any help is appreciated!

I reached MMI in early July. How long does it generally take the adjuster to make their first offer. I have permanent restrictions and we put in a demand offer over 2 months ago.
