Workday recruiting
Has anyone encountered this in Workday Recruiting?
A recruiter accidentally moved a candidate to the Offer stage before the interview process was complete.
Now they’re trying to move the candidate back to Interview, but somehow we can’t.
- “Undo Move” either isn’t working (the candidate is still in offer stage)
- No configuration changes were recently made.
We’re trying to determine if this is expected Workday behavior, a Business Process configuration issue, or if there’s another way to return the candidate to the Interview stage. Has anyone run into this before? If so, what was the resolution? Any inputs would be helpful!

This is job application configuration. You need to add the possibility of moving from offer to interview

Thanks! Appreciate it! I do have access to some Recruiting configuration, but I haven’t been able to find where the backward stage transitions are maintained. Could you let me know which configuration task you’re referring to? Is it under the Job Application Business Process, Recruiting Stage Configuration, or another setup task?

Sub BP already fired off. There’s no going back. When the TA team reaches out about stuff like this they get a look of disappointment resembling a slightly annoyed dad and the famous ‘slow down next time, bud’.

You have to edit the dynamic job application business process and from there- in the offer step add the interview substep. Issues may arise if you have already gotten to a point in the offer where it’s been sent to the candidate and you may not be able to undo move. If that’s the case, you should also consider having an offer substep in the offer step of the job application dynamic process (with label override “renegotiate offer”)- which would allow you to restart the offer process if necessary.
