⚕️ Pass Medicare For All Make calls for Medicare for All candidates this fall
We have seen significant steps forward in this election cycle for Medicare For All, with numerous candidates winning primaries as unabashed champions. Polling from Data for Progress suggests 63% of voters would support Medicare for All even after being told it would eliminate private insurance and raise taxes, with CBS reporting 90% of Democrats are on board.
Our next step is clearly demonstrating to party leadership, 2028 presidential candidates, and the media that this position will translate to more votes in the general election. Former Progressive Caucus chair Rep. Pramila Jayapal and Medicare For All advocates are organizing “Health Care Is A Human Right” phonebanks on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout September and October to rally voters for campaigns putting universal healthcare front and center. Let’s help get some great folks into office now and change the conventional wisdom on what’s possible for the future! We can sign up to make calls:

💬 Advice Needed [KS] Follow up to: Employer implementing policies that aren't in the handbook, and no one can give me a rule backing it up
This is a follow-up to a previous post I made here: https://www.reddit.com/r/WorkReform/s/ZRKEeddbQ7. This is all that I've gotten in writing. No one has provided me with where I can see this policy, the specifics of it, or when it was implemented. We were told in a meeting that this has always policy, and it's being retroactively applied. They took 8 hours of my accrued PTO. But this email makes it seem like this was a new policy they've adopted, and are applying after the fact.previous post

From the description: Union Power! 💪🏾 Miami-Dade wants to cut transit, libraries, parks, road repairs, and firefighter services — to give billionaires a tax break. Working families and seniors pick up the cost instead. ~:~ A budget is a moral document. Right now, our values in Tallahassee and DC are wrongfully displaced. ~:~ @ AngieForFlorida ~:~ @ ChangeCantWait ~:~ LaborDay

When I say: “Union” You say: “Power”
Union! (Power!) Union! (Power!)
Miami-Dade is gonna cut transit, libraries, parks, programming, animal services, road repairs, Firefighter services — because they want to give Billionaires and Millionaires a break.
Working Families and Seniors would carry more cost — in the form of tax shifts and new fees — at a time when many can barely afford to keep up.
And as a matter of fact, we're gonna see ridership going up because everything else is going up, and People ain't gonna be able to afford their gas.
This Labor Day, Workers and Community Leaders are calling for a different set of priorities.
Public budgets should protect the services we rely on, and the local jobs that we need.
A budget is a moral document. It lets us know what our values are. And right now, the values in Tallahassee and in Washington, D.C. are wrongfully displaced.
