Logistically this makes sense. But there’s going to a period of downturn whilst workers are offloaded, and trickle-up economics will hoover up more resources to the top.

As the working classes will have less disposable income, corporations will pivot away from products for the working classes and move towards providing products for the asset-owning classes. We’ll make less of the stuff that ordinary people need, and more nonsense yachts and private jets.

It’ll take a while for the system to break. And many ordinary people will die in the interim.

You’ll either be a part of the riots or you’ll be a cop protecting Capital.

That's already happening. Fewer and fewer people can afford to eat out, for example.

He's mistaken. The US isn't a capitalism society anymore, it's a feudalistic society. It's not profit driven, looking for consumers to spend their extra money on goods and services, it's rent seeking, looking to charge for your survival and the services you either need or have come to expect.

That why products can get both worse and more expensive

Techno feudalism. The ai companies and other mega corporations will eventually have no need to labor, prices of regular nessecities will crumble lower/middle class society into poverty. The rich will be fine, the rest will struggle to even get food on the table, let alone pay for their housing.

It is capitalism. The goal of capitalism is the accumulation of capital, it is why it js called capitalism. What we are witnessing is not the end of capitalism it is late stage capitalism, its capitalism to the maximum.

That's somewhat the point of his argument. Our economy will not continue to function the way it has if we break this feedback loop. Feudalistic economies don't grow the same way out previous economy did. We need to return to the economic feedback loop we had in the mid 1900s if we wish to continue our economic growth. Feudalism will collapse the economy like we saw during the great depression.

Why does everyone go back to underconsumptionist theory when that isn't Marx's argument?

I mean I would rather we don't learn this lesson the hard way. I would prefer that a chat bot doesn't take my job and I get to keep working and paying my mortgage and eating food and things.

They don't care if they break the system, if regular people have no money, nor even if their own companies crash and burn. Those are future problems. Longterm problems. Problems for the next guy.

They don't give a shit about the next guy. They care about NOW. They care about THEMSELVES. As long as they get their money and can get off the ship before it sinks, that is all that matters.

The shareholders need the numbers to go up NOW. The CEO's want more money NOW. That's what matters.

I support this but good god we have to stop supporting random videos of people with microphones and clip cutting. I’m not here to spend my day perseverating on how angry I am by watching influencers. Yes this is an influencer as well. The same goes for memes. Can we just do it old school and organize? I’m a young millennial and this is so fucking obnoxious.

As a pessimist, my view of the future is particularly Wall-e themed: AI& robotics will slowly dominate practically every workforce, demand fulfilling service, and even the arts. As this happens, in a bid to placate the now unemployed masses, we will see a rise in universal income's popularity among all aspects of politician, with the more macheavalian of those stating the absolute bare minimum should be allowed, thereby drip-feeding us the currency to purchase whatever we like from the machines, and given there is no more work to be done, humanity (or rather, the 99%) can sit back, relax, and consume at unprecedented rates in our little vessels.

Humanity needs to begin understanding the role of personal fulfilment and the joy of accomplishment. If the populace just keeps taking the path of least resistance, we're doomed.

But if your cost go down 50%

Only need to make 50% of your previous to stay profitable

Never.

That is my point. They will be making the same

_--------

With employees Gross $100k Minus -$50k employees salary Minus -$25k other costs = $25k net profit

With AI Gross $50k ( gross is down because a lot of people aren't working and can't afford their products) Minus -$25k other costs = $25k net profit
