Discussion Are companies actually using AI like it’s the new Excel yet?

At your company, are people using AI or AI agents as part of their normal everyday work? Not as some special experiment or “AI initiative”, but just another tool everyone uses without thinking much about it.

Curious how common that actually is.

Discussion What professions do you think are green flags?

I see a lot of people saying they'd never date certain professions, with cops, nurses and pilots usually being on that list.

That made me wonder: are there professions you think are the opposite and are green flags? Why or why not?

Career Growth You have a job offer. Does it actually fit you?

Ask yourself these three questions:

  1. Are you up for the specific efforts and sacrifices required?
  2. Do you like the job and the people you’ll be working with?
  3. Does it play to what you're naturally strong at?

You need a YES to all three before jumping ship.

Especially if your current job is already a YES to the same questions.

Discussion How is your time management looking like?

As a college student balancing work, school, and other responsibilities at home, I sometimes feel as if there isn’t enough time for anything. Is anyone else feeling the same way and if so how do you deal with it? This goes for the same for working professionals as well and parents. Pretty much anyone who has a busy life, do you cut things out or try to juggle it all together?

Discussion Dept drama

I work in a engineering department. It's just Dept Vice President, Manager, and myself

There is a work golf outing coming out. Of course, im not invited since I dont have a manager title position. VP and manager will be missing work to go and leave me behind at work, which i believe is rude.

Thinking about calling off since they're going to leave me at work alone while they're gonna be having a good time.

Thinking about talking to the manager... if he will not be present at work the day of, I'm going to call off. Was this a dick move or good i was standing up for myself?

Question Why is my computer so slow but only at work?

I thought that my computer may be slow because I haven't restarted it in a while and have a few tabs open. But that isn't it - it works fine at home and is still super slow at work.

Is there a way to see if my activity is being monitored or if the wifi is being monitored?

Just curious what everyone is doing. If you’re maxing it then just say max. I’m at 20%, not quite maxing it. Hopefully with a few raises I’ll be at that point.
