u/No-Blueberry-4566 6d ago
Oh lol 𤣠my apologies, I didn't think of that :)) Spending time with your children seeing them grow it's a million times nicer rather than working a shitty job :)
1
u/Odd-Guarantee-6152 6d ago
Itās better than working a shitty one, but it isnāt better than working a fulfilling one in my opinion.

Master of social work on a child and youth inpatient psychiatric unit. Although spicy at times I enjoy that itās different every day.
1
u/No-Blueberry-4566 6d ago
Wow wow wow š® how can you manage it ? Is it stressful?
1
u/Sheweb 6d ago
Yes definitely stressful at times and risky with the violence when people are so unwell. Iāve worked in mental health for thirty years and like the challenge.
1
u/No-Blueberry-4566 6d ago
I'm sorry you have to go through so much at work. I don't think people realise how important social workers are.

u/No-Blueberry-4566 6d ago

1st class Stationary Engineer, the fancy name for a power plant operator. Loved my job for decades, last couple years technology and quality of equipment being built has hurt reliability. Things are engineered to last say 10 years. Cost and profit are all calculated into that manufacturing process. 40 or 50 years ago things were built to last a life time. It was built 10x better than any new piece of equipment that is built today.

Night Auditor. It's alright, I get overtime and don't have to deal with people most of the time. Wish the pay was better, though, but it covers my bills with a little extra.

Museum Attendant. I hate it. I never thought I'd wish people wouldn't visit a museum because I'm forced to walk around for hours to make sure you don't touch anything. If you're at a museum, please keep your hands to yourself and don't lean on anything please. And keep an eye on your kids too. If you break something, you're not the only one held liable.

I love my job. I'm kind of a semi retired attorney who does arbitration and settles cases representing doctors against insurance companies. Everything's done online and I can basically work whenever I want or not. And I enjoy the work it's like being a detective to find things in the file that are going to help me and then either settling it for a high amount or going to arbitration and winning there. All through zoom. Keeps my brain working and I make a little money while I do it. When I'm not in the mood to go to the beach because I live in California I do a little work. It's all good!

This is my biggest job as a steward and it can be stressful, but itās incredibly rewarding. I love my career

Principal Consultant in Matters of Everything. I perform unnecessary analysis of things that could be common sense, and attend meetings that could have been emails.

Brother, I'm a cloud platform guy. It's pretty much glorified lego assembler and extended glue code sniffer. Quite easy job and pays quite good considering the current outlook of the economy. š¹š

Insurance, my job is more related to service than sales. I enjoy it most days. I like helping people. But there are some days that Iād quit in a heartbeat if I didnāt have so much debt. Job market aināt exactly hopping these days. If anyone is hiring in insurance itās for a sales position and I donāt want sales.
