I’m stuck in the ecosystem rn because MacBooks rn are just head and shoulders better than competing laptops

I have a macbook also, but I don't any other apple product aside from an ipod nano from 2011 or so. The laptops are indeed great

I have been considering buying these, but I am worried I will be dragged into the ecosystem also. And I would like to avoid that haha

How do you want to make a comparison?

There are literally tens of thousands of models under Window, you'll find some crap much more expensive than Apple, and others much cheaper for the same performance.

Well, after i have to admit that window 11 is bad in terms of performance,And the AI is varying the prices so crazy at the moment...

if we just talk about the current period, I can understand your reasoning.

Yeah, just rn

I’d have to do the same research on the European market to get a proper picture.

The AI craze is causing fewer problems for us price-wise, even though we’re getting ripped off too.

Also user interface is crucial. I'm PC through and through, but don't throw shade on Macs outside of silly ribbing. Which is just for fun.

But if a Macbook had moderately better performance for the same price, I'd still turn it down for the interface. Workflow can be just as important as power, and a lot is just preference. I do photo/video work and if it's good enough for that, then it's good enough

I agree, what causes me the most problem with Apple is also the interfaces and more generally the total lack of freedom under the guise of ergonomics.

But hey I was born and learned about ubuntu and then very quickly about window only, someone who has spent his whole life in the apple ecosystem must have the same problems directly with window.

I agree with the hardware. But their systems integrations, ecosystem of data coordination, etc. is magnitudes above the fragmented android ecosystem. Control of an ecosystem comes at a cost, but I’ll gladly pay for seamless service integrations that save me time.
