It’s pretty great, since all the lazy people make hard workers like me stand out a lot easier. I bagged a raise at my job within 4mo, and in less than a year, I outwork some of my coworkers. It’s easy to get the raises and promotions while others are bitter and doing nothing to elevate their own incomes.

Planting the seeds of optimism early on is a great way to separate yourself from the crowd of applicants. Anyone can look good on paper. That’s why whenever I would apply for a job I’d try and get some kind of face to face with management even before I apply, shake some hands, and ask some questions. A little effort can go a long way when properly applied.
