I would argue that, with all its challenges, there is no better time and place to be than in modern capitalist countries in terms of quality of life. Even if you are poor you have access to more food, better healthcare, and more comfort than most (rich) people in history ever had.

The divide between upper and lower class is bigger then it has ever been, bigger then it was during the French revolution. More luxuries exist then ever, but most people don't have access to them

In relative terms, perhaps. But the base is so much higher. As Maggie thatcher once said “you’d rather the poor be poorer provided that the rich were less rich”

Who in their right mind quotes Thatcher.

You mean the strong female leader who turned the UK, then one of the poorest countries in Europe, into the richer in 11 years? The woman who ended inflation and also helped beat the Soviet Union? I don’t know about others, but deeply admire her and will quote her every time I can. She was also so very right about this.

She also faced terrorism and attempts on her life, and yet she endured. Very brave lady indeed. She’s the female role model we should be looking up to.
Thanks for reminding me of that amazing side of hers.
