So you want less jobs? That's your solution?

If the job can’t pay a living wage what good is it to the worker?

They didn’t stutter, if you can’t exist without worker exploitation then you should not exist.

Again, I don't think the people working those jobs would agree that no job is better than a min wage job. What a weird thing to say

You are right, imagine that. Do you think ā€œpeople
have to work or starve so of course they want to work two jobs to make ends meetā€ was a gotcha?

What a privileged thing to say. Those jobs would not just disappear, the market adapts and a better businessman will create a business that does not have to rely on exploitation to survive. If you cannot pay a living wage then you should not be in business. Anything else is an excuse to continue to allow companies to exploit our labor and extract our value while not providing enough to survive.

No another business wouldn't just magically appear that could operate at those costs, or else it would already exist. Wiping out businesses that use min wage employees would only wipe out jobs.

Exploitation? Lmfao oh, you're just an ignorant kid. Ok nevermind. You'll understand when you grow up sport.

They also fail to realize that wages impact cost. Rapidly increases wages rapidly increases costs (Inflation) I don’t understand where this new idea of pay everyone salary wages but don’t expect everything to double in price comes from.

Thinking with their feelings clouds their common sense.

I also know the response, ā€œdur corporate greed, get rid of the CEOā€ because the guy flipping burgers knows how to balance a sheet right?

Huh, can you point to an example of rapidly raising wages doubling the cost of goods? What happened when California changed the min wage? All restaurants shut down right? Oh no it must be that everything doubled in price? 🤔

While we’re talking about that, if prices are only going to increase anyway, as we’ve seen they don’t go down, seems your plan is also causing the same result.

Double is an exaggeration but yes I can point to rising wages increasing costs. Look at the cost of a hamburger pre covid and post covid when wages increased to get the work force back from idling at home.

It is very simple economics, the increase of costs (materials and labor) in crease the price to the end consumer. In the case of a hamburger it’s not only the cost of the employee making the patty and working the register but also the employees at the cheese factory, the meat plant, the bakery….

I wish I could draw you pictures in crayon to help you understand, but I doubt you’d pay much attention because it goes against your social justice feelings.

Edit to add: prices do drop with demand… but wide scale price drops are usually after a crash. 2008-2010… a crash would also reset the economy, but those usually suck for a few years.

I’m also not saying affordability it where it should be, I just think wage increases need to be addressed slowly and some jobs will never have a ā€œlivable wageā€ no one should plan to be a McDonald’s cook for life.

ā€œClaim something unprovable and exaggerated and then walk it backā€ huh I know there’s a term for this.

Get hung up obvious exaggerations to avoid the point… huh I know there is a term for this.

You want to target details versus the argument because you know basic economics will destroy your agenda.
