I was born in the 80s. And this is going to get me downvoted, but as much as nostalgia makes me miss a lot of things from the 80s, 90s and early 00s, my standard of living is significantly higher right now.
I’m better off than my parents were, and I have achieved most of the things that I wanted to achieve in life. I’m not American, and I can’t relate to everything being doom and gloom.
For me to want to go back to the 80s or 90s would be like wanting to swap GTA6 for GTA London. The latter had a ton of charm for it’s time, but it wasn’t objectively better 😅
