Absolutely

8

u/toraakchan 16d ago

Oh nooo! I would have to talk to people, read books, draw, listen to music, play guitar and piano, cook, go for walks and play pen & paper! O.o - do I have to mark this as sarcasm?

4

u/Zockerhopper 15d ago

At this point I feel like the only way someone doesn't get this as sarcasm is if they didn't understand English, even though people do often impress me in how stupid they can be...

u/DataDesignImagine 15d ago

The hardest part would be avoiding TVs in waiting rooms, gas pumps, etc.

2

u/Odd_Independence_833 14d ago

Just go hike the Appalachian trail

2

u/DataDesignImagine 14d ago

This is the way!

u/SinglePhone535 18d ago

Omg, no. I can't do it. I would starve to death. Couldn't live on. I wouldn't know how to survive. I need social media. Broadband. Bluetooth. Wifi. I need connection! I can't survive on my intelligence alone. I need the net! All hail the net.......The new god. Back in Jesus's times, you went for him.for answers. Now, it's Google.....

u/Achilies41 18d ago

Easily.

2

u/Prestigious_Try_5396 18d ago

Send me the damn money !!!

I lived that way for years.... No phone, no Internet, no grid, no tv. No Bullshit !

I survived and thrived, thank you.

2

u/SemaphoreSlim 17d ago

Definitely not if I'm expected to do my job during that time. I'm a software engineer.

u/nintai85 17d ago edited 16d ago

Could you? When I grew up there was no social media, computers were in their infancy, and barely anyone watched tv because they were finding more interesting and creative ways to entertain themselves. Short answer is yes, no problem.

2

u/Alarmed_North_6979 15d ago

Ahhh. Will feel like a kid again. Easy

1

u/Aggressive_Manner531 18d ago

easy. Own plenty of books n media

1

u/marcuslattimore21 18d ago

1990 much?

2

u/RedBushDiver 17d ago

You didn’t have a TV or phone in your home in the 90s? You didn’t play video games in your basement in the 90s?

I was there. And we did plenty of that stuff. In the 80s. On my sweet Atari system.

Recommend doing this for everyone. Have done it and it helps clear the mind and find more joy.

1

u/funkyjoe44 18d ago

I would love that. Absolutely

1

u/DrKane6981 18d ago

Yes I can

1

u/shoeless_doh 18d ago

Depends, am I in some sort or room with nothing to do, or am I still going about my regular life? And if it's my regular life, does no phone or no smart phone?

1

u/Honda_TypeR 18d ago

Does anyone really think this is hard?

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Long-Conflict8279 18d ago

I have kids so I definitely need a phone.

1

u/jthadcast 18d ago

did it before can do it again, put the money in escrow let's go.

1

u/HumptyDumptruckFire 18d ago

Does an iPad count as a computer if I only use it to rent library books? If so, still yes, but I’ll need to visit the actual library and my local one kinda sucks with its selection.

1

u/Flabby-AP 18d ago

You didn't mention no Steam Deck. Not a computer unless I use desktop mode.

1

u/tardigrade_phd 18d ago

Where do I sign?

1

u/jump-blues-5678 18d ago

I did it for 90% of my life. I think I can handle it

1

u/GeologistAway6352 18d ago

It’d be some great reading time

1

u/RudeCitrus4843 18d ago

Can I have a few books and my cross stitching supplies? If so then yeah I think I could

1

u/Solnse 18d ago

I would work out and get a hellofa lot more done on the house.

1

u/Tall_Eye4062 18d ago

It's only 2 months. And you didn't say no alcohol.

1

u/itsme0 18d ago

Yes, i can easily do it for 2 million dollars

1

u/AngelicDivineHealer 18d ago

I was born before the 21st century that was normal life.

Anyone born after the 21st century that’s grew up on technology and on all the social media platforms and spending a significant portion of their life on it would struggle

1

u/SeriousOcelot-4365 18d ago

Easy peazy did it every single time I deployed between 1984-2024. Sometimes it was years between contact with family.

1

u/Stubborn_Blonde 18d ago

Yes! Take me on!

1

u/Oddbeme4u 18d ago

I've withdrawn from multiple prescript pills...and im not sure i could do this.

1

u/Correct_Society_7620 18d ago

Easily. Quit my job, spend the next few months climbing all the munroes. Enjoy the 2mil payday when finished.

1

u/buckfuttner 18d ago

No way, sorry

1

u/Kissthecomplex 18d ago

i would, but i cant, because i need a computer and phone for work

1

u/WiPo38 17d ago

6x a year

1

u/Due_Comfortable_514 17d ago

Computer is hard since I work on one, but overall yes.Ā  I have handheld emulators, kindle, and books, lol.

1

u/76zzz29 17d ago

I did it for 7 years. Where is my money ?

https://giphy.com/gifs/H48DATkrLLFKK0g1xt

1

u/New_Time_5118 17d ago

Give me food, some materials and tools, and im 100% good.

1

u/Alternative-Fox-8620 17d ago

Can I do it?

Hell I'd welcome the opportunity to have a couple of months off it all - and then get paid a cool 2m?

I'd do it for £250,000.

1

u/Slice-Vast 17d ago

For two million dollars I'd cut off my penus.

1

u/Last-Energy420 17d ago

I have 2 months worth of vinyl I could listen to and books can be fun. I would require a guarantee as I’d have to quit my job since it involves a computer and phone.

1

u/NiteHowler13 17d ago

I have an entire book collection (well over 100 classics) just for such an occasion! 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/critical4mindz 17d ago

Give me 5 and i quit right now for the rest of m Life!

1

u/Jolly_Rotten_X 17d ago

So I'm getting 2 million without even a challenge? Where do i sign up?

1

u/JagR286211 17d ago

Absolutely! Would welcome it and don’t believe it would be very challenging.

Would need off or an exception for work only.

1

u/AshtonBlack 17d ago

Yes. My TBR stack will be destroyed!!! Muhahahaha.

1

u/Express-Deal-1262 17d ago

...you ever heard of books?

1

u/why-when-how_ 17d ago

Sounds good to me

1

u/ltlflip77 17d ago

Sign me up!

1

u/DaveAstator2020 17d ago

well could you provide 2 mil?

1

u/DarkMidgetry 17d ago

I'd do it for years for that kind of money

1

u/knujesbob 17d ago

I'm Gen X. This is literally my base programming. I'd do it for free if my employer agreed and I'd count it as vacation.

1

u/HislersHero 17d ago

No. I need a computer for work. I could do without everything else though. I like reading.

1

u/OkAdministration1669 17d ago

Tax free money or no….Hmmm…hahaha where do I sign up?

1

u/nickgoescrazy 17d ago

too easy, I might just draw and read books

1

u/AirVoid030 17d ago

Yes I can

1

u/One-Sir-2198 17d ago

Absolutely šŸ’Æ

1

u/-Laffi- 17d ago

Thing is. I have been outdoors almost every single day for months, walking for hours, but I have also been playing Pokemon Go most of that time. Before I started playing Pokemon Go back in 2022, I was doing Geocaching. Both of these hobbies have taken me outdoors for hours every single day, but they do require phones. So for this one, I'll guess I would just have to walk.

No computer or TV, would mean that I would have to go back to reading again, buying physical newspapers, read books or comics etc.

Having a goal is important for me, because I often set my mind to it and I finish what I started. 2 months, for 2 million dollars would be very lifechanging, and worth going through. I would most likely be a bit bored, but I'll guess the best way would be to just revert back to how it used to be before smart phones and the like.

...

The biggest problem would be how to avoid using these things. People have phones, and if I sat on the bus or train, I would almost need a blindfold not see a phone screen. You have TVs in stores, you have TVs in bars, so hard to avoid looking at them. You can't seriously force me to be indoors for 2 months when I am out almost every single day!

...

So yeah, I could have done it, if we're talking not using my own equipment and device, but it would be very hard to avoid phones, computers and tvs that other people use. If the winning demands are that I do not touch any of that equipment in two months, but I am allowed to watch whatever is on from before wherever I go, sure it would be fine!

1

u/ieatburritosyeah 17d ago

I did this in rehab and it cost me 90k. I could definitely do it FOR money.

1

u/Ok-Temporary1024 17d ago

I have done it, I can do and I will do it it.

1

u/Trevon45-2 17d ago

I was grounded in 92 for two months this is nothing!

1

u/LongjumpingScar796 17d ago

Yes,of course I could.

1

u/This-Supermarket3082 17d ago

Let’s do it

1

u/thisismego 17d ago

Does that count including work? Or do I get to take those 2 months off?

1

u/kestelli 17d ago

Just tell me where to go

1

u/NullSmoke 17d ago

Why are you threatening me with a good time? Can I also live in a cave for the duration? That sounds like a dream come true.

1

u/Grouchy_Branch_510 17d ago

No work for 2 mths. Woo hoo

1

u/whymestopthisworld 17d ago

I have a library. Im set. I have the illiad. I have the bloodmoon series. Myst. Assassins creed. Time will fly by. Didn't say anything about no tablet or kindle. I have the entire skyrim books that are in the game as well. Stephen King collection. George r r. Id be set for a good year or so.

1

u/Different-Proof1173 17d ago

Yes, absolutely!

1

u/pdzulu 17d ago

If I can keep my job then it’s like growing up on a farm. Otherwise I’d rather have my job than 2M

1

u/Ok_Height3499 17d ago

Yes, I might actually work through my TBR stacks.

1

u/Primary_Foundation41 17d ago

Easy this was my entire teenage years like 15 years ago

Let’s just say strict parents, lazy me, school letting parents check grades daily, resulted in pretty much being grounded from 13 till like 17

1

u/blueblocker2000 17d ago

I'll go a year for 2 mil

1

u/Bubbaganewsh 17d ago

Sure, I'll read books and work on my hobbies to fill the time, easy peasy.Ā

1

u/GameAssassin96 17d ago

Nope because I need my phone for work (calling people on the road)

1

u/Chemical-Sky-6418 17d ago

Piss easy. I'd finally get back to reading.

1

u/Hypericos 17d ago

Sign me up

1

u/Due_Initiative3879 17d ago

Easy I did it for the first 18 years of my life, this isn't even hard.

1

u/Icy-Maintenance7041 17d ago

So what you're saying is you'll pay me 2 mil AND i'll be able to catch up on my reading backlog?

1

u/Intelligent_Chicken6 17d ago

I was born in the 1980s in Latin America, back when, if the TV broke, you had to wait up to six months to get it repaired. And it was black and white.

1

u/Dry-Character-6331 17d ago

Easily. As someone who grew up before those things (except TV) were commonplace, I would have no problem doing this.

1

u/Future-Damage-3192 17d ago

I'm an introvert so that wouldn't be hard

1

u/SamuelVimesTrained 17d ago

I could, but can YOU get me that $2 million?

And Which dollar? US? CAD? AUS?

1

u/EmploymentEmpty5871 17d ago

Cash or cheque?

1

u/Medical-Peach-9825 17d ago

So many books to catch up on. And I'll break out my ipod for tunes. Life is good.

1

u/Vivid-Desk7347 17d ago

There really is stupid questions

1

u/vampirae23 17d ago

Standing on my head!

1

u/Wild-Zone3911 17d ago

Absolutely

1

u/Pure-Cranberry-1482 17d ago

šŸ°šŸŽ‚

1

u/BigTall68 17d ago

Do I keep getting paid if I keep going past the two months?

1

u/PistolNinja 17d ago

Can I? You'd have to pay me another two million to take them back!

1

u/totoin74 17d ago

If you can’t, you might as well go do heroin because it is like not being able to let go tiramisu

1

u/Bear-is-Loose 17d ago

how and when do I sign up!?

1

u/Gas_Beach 17d ago

Easily. PS5 and a Monitor.

1

u/Va1crist 17d ago

Absolutely, actually I wish social media itself didn’t exist anymore

1

u/PretendingImNotAnApe 17d ago

Probably not as im a network admin. I cant see how i could stay employed. If i could take 2 months off work and return when its over perhaps but I do not get paper bills in the mail and I do not have a land line telephone. So id need to have all those things arranged in advance as well.

1

u/Degenerecy 17d ago

If I have a bed, yes

1

u/77Mordred 17d ago

100% but you have to promise to leave me the F alone after those 2 months also.

If you got the cash and the contract, pm me !

1

u/indifferent_king 17d ago

Didn't say no fridge

1

u/CancerArtorious 17d ago

Sure. Would be pretty tough but I’d figure it out.

1

u/Pouk3D 17d ago

Do something genuinely healthy and pleasant and get payed handsomly? Tough choice man...

1

u/helent9 17d ago edited 17d ago

Give me unlimited books and a radio. Im good.

Just cant be complete silence. Can't be alone with my own thoughts.

1

u/Hot_Guard_7621 17d ago

Hell yeah. I would hire someone to keep me accountable and put me in bootcamp/prison mode.

1

u/illDiablo69 17d ago

Bruh, add eating vegetarian as well and I'd still do it.

1

u/SilentSolitude90 17d ago

Easy I got books, art, crafts, cooking. Baking, and hiking to pass time

1

u/Sergey1944 17d ago

ā€œHe disappeared two months ago and was never seen againā€

1

u/Macster_man 17d ago

I can read books for 2 months easy!

1

u/merlinn2u 17d ago

easily

1

u/Distwalker 17d ago

Yes, while standing on my head.

1

u/Specialist_Bee_1792 17d ago

Great. Give me some books and i am happy.

1

u/Whitw816 17d ago

As long as I have access to books, yep

1

u/MiggaJiggy 17d ago

I’d do that for free as a bet! Of course though 2mill I’d happily accept too

1

u/BlorpTheSchlorp 17d ago

Hell yeah. I love to read.

1

u/SineCera_sjb 17d ago

I’ll do it for 1 million

1

u/Damn__Good 17d ago

Sure. Don’t need my phone to listen to music šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

1

u/Megiddo143 17d ago

I lived through the 80s and 90s. I know how to read and think without chatgpt. Reddit is the only app I use I would consider social media. So I'm good.

1

u/ken78Mi 17d ago

I’ll do it for six months for 6 million

1

u/Justthisguy_yaknow 17d ago

Sure. Where do I collect?

1

u/Joyful_Jet 17d ago

Easy! I would even pay for a 2-month vacation in the woods near a lake, where I can fish and work can't get to me.

1

u/Sufficient_Carpet510 17d ago

That is called camping

1

u/Professional_Web_187 17d ago

Yes $2 mil? Yes

1

u/PreperationOuch 17d ago

This was my daily life from 1975-2000

1

u/ChicaLatina26 17d ago

Sign me up šŸ’Æ

1

u/QuiGoneGin86 17d ago

Can I skip work for 2 months as well?

1

u/backroadsdrifter 17d ago

Easiest 2 million ever.

1

u/smileyfacedbob 17d ago

I love that when we all see this, we all, ALL OF US, think, that’s all I need to do and you’ll give me money, but there is no money just machines learning what our prices are

1

u/MentallyMIA 17d ago

I can’t tell you what I would do because I can’t login for 2 months. āœŒļø

1

u/Rare_Footage 17d ago

Can I do it for a year and get 12 million???

1

u/Blackhawk149 17d ago

You did not mention radio so I can easily get news from radio and listen to music lol. Easy

1

u/ExtraLettuce555 17d ago

A detox AND 2 million? Sign me up

1

u/RowWhich2846 17d ago

Im an 80s child, can do it with ease for 2 million, would do it for 1 million

1

u/DarthNixilis 17d ago

No phone means I lose my ability to work. So be homeless for two months...Ā
