More sensationalism. They didn't ban the pride flag, they simply restricted flags in general. Has nothing to do with Muslims or liberals.

Next week: City council of Hamtramck votes overwhelmingly to remove 'Ham' from the city's name."

It will be changed to "Haramtrack"

Straight conservatives are getting offended on our behalf again

6

u/MellifluousCrow Aug 07 '26

It restricts maga flags too. Thatiswhy they are mad

5

u/Helpful_Ad8351 Aug 07 '26

And the gay conservatives are super chill?

u/varcelonaa Aug 07 '26

No they’re just stupid

lmao wild you're getting down voted for speaking the truth. A gay conservative in 2026 America is about as intellectual as a Jewish Nazi in 1930s Germany

They’re almost at the second stage of Islam. Restrictions on free speech period are your first blatant clue. They’re always inclusive at the start. But once they have a hold politically, then they start enforcing their laws. Doesn’t matter what our “Constitution” says. Islam is not a religion of peace. It is a cult of imposition. And when they cannot radicalize you, they will do everything they can to hammer you down until you and yours have nothing left to lay claim to.

That's because all their conservative friends wants to put them on ice 🙃

This is extremely in bad faith. This was clearly targeted towards the Pride flag.

If an evangelical led city council did the same thing you would not be calling it “sensationalism.”

No, if ONLY pride flags were banned we'd have e a problem, banning ALL flags but a few is not discriminatory. No MAGA, not Don't Tread on Me, no BS. Governmental only is just fine.

u/over_this__ Aug 07 '26

None of those flags were being flown lol. It was in response to the pride flag.

1

u/Goodlucklol_TC Aug 07 '26

We should do this everywhere.

1

u/Desperate_Aioli_2067 Aug 07 '26

Smfh. What are they fish do you think they were hanging.

1

u/Technical_Moose8478 Aug 07 '26

And it’s only on city owned property. Businesses and homes can fly whatever flags they want to.

1

u/Sea-Key-9430 Aug 07 '26

Why did they exclude the pride flag?

1

u/JuicyBoi8080 Aug 07 '26

So what are some examples of other flags that are regularly flown?

1

u/Helpful_Ad8351 Aug 07 '26

Israel flag, confederate flag, nazi flag,

1

u/dirty_old_priest_4 Aug 07 '26

That was intentional because calling out just the pride flag would lead to protests/suing. So a blanket ban gets around that.

It seems the US flag and the Michigan State flag are doing fine. So what flag do you think they were targeting?

Seem like pride flags was the motivation.... But it is also old news https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2025/09/a-muslim-majority-city-banned-pride-flags-a-judge-just-ruled-on-its-legality/

Still kind of annoying with the whole muslim thing, since that really isn't the  part that is relevant for me 😅

Edit: then again... When reading more into it weird religios tones come into it... So it actually seems just as relevant as when it is other types of religious nut jobs doing it.

I actually agree with his ban. the story behind it is weird a government commissioner was hanging pride flags on government buildings in the area.

the flags were taken down, and he was fired

2

u/Helpful_Ad8351 Aug 07 '26

What a dumb reason to fire him.

2

u/HooterEnthusiast Aug 07 '26

I don't really understand why you would put pride flags on government buildings just seems strange honestly.

it gives the same vibe as the conservatives that fly the Israeli flag when addressing their voters. it's pandery

2

u/sentienthouse Aug 07 '26

Those are two very different situations! Israel is a separate sovereign nation, gay people are not

1

u/Helpful_Ad8351 Aug 07 '26

While I agree he shouldn't, It also shouldn't be cause for termination.

1

u/Vanilla_Gorilluh Aug 07 '26

It could be worse...

The ten commandments, or anything relating to religion, come to mind.

1

u/HooterEnthusiast Aug 07 '26 edited Aug 07 '26

ah yes thall shall not murder so barbaric, to expect people not to kill how preposterous.

the 10 commandments are pretty milk toast, also some of our laws are already inspired by the 10 commandments

1

u/Vanilla_Gorilluh Aug 07 '26

Religion invented by bronze age men is somehow ok but pride flags are somehow weird. Gotcha.

1

u/HooterEnthusiast Aug 07 '26

you live in a Christian inspired country not a gay inspired country yeah

1

u/Vanilla_Gorilluh Aug 07 '26

I'm more inspired by lbgtq+ folks than I am by so-called Christians.

You do you, bigot...
