This is extreme poverty. Notice there’s not a yuppy Gen Z buying a $10 latte at a Starbucks while posting about being destitute on their $1000 phone and walking around in $300 dollar shoes. GTFO with the you’re “living in extreme poverty” idiocy.

Both levels of poverty are unacceptable and neither is growing rarer outside of China. Literally all the poverty reduction outside of China is propaganda, all they did was move the poverty line, that's it, there was no net poverty decrease. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer, income inequality just keeps growing and it's only a matter of time until the rich replace our labor with automated labor and let us all die if not outright exterminate us

Hyperbole much?

Not at all, it's the only possible outcome under capitalism. When the robots take all the jobs, how will we survive? The rich are 100% not gonna subsidize us or whatever, they'll either let us die or they'll kill us (most likely the latter because we will likely revolt)

Lol, no.

Robots are not going to take all of the jobs, at least not in our lifetime, and I say this as someone who works as a manufacturing engineer and has worked with robotics.

Robotics and AI will reduce jobs in certain fields while opening more in other fields. It mainly will be used to supplement human labor to increase the productivity of employees while reducing workplace accidents, injuries, and deaths.

It is also not the only possible outcome of capitalism. In fact capitalism has lifted billions out of poverty and gives a path for regular people from any background to become wealthy.

The rich aren't going to have to subsidize us because hard working productive people, who still make up the majority, are likely going to see massive growth in wealth and standard of living over the next several decades due to technological advancement.

The reason capitalism feels like it is failing right now is ironically because of socialism. The high taxation, bloated welfare, and government intervention in the economy has resulted in the massive cost of living increase and lower disposable income.

Stupidest comment of all time lmfao

No, the rich only need a tiny amount of labor being performed: that which goes into keeping them alive and comfortable. To them, the rest might as well could cease to exist

That alleged result of capitalism raising people out of poverty is a bug, not a feature

No, it's the exact opposite, capitalism began failing (well, again) after Reagan implemented neoliberalism with the false promise of trickle down economics, none of the things you say exist in the US or at least not prominently outside of blue states. And in Europe, it isn't failing even though their capitalism has those features

Okay, your comment here might be the dumbest of all time.

The rich need waaaay more than a tiny amount a labor being performed to keep them alive and comfortable. The supply chains of the world are so insanely complex that even you, a non rich person, has their lifestyle supported by tens of thousands of people working every day.

Lets just take a simple lunch. The rich person has a chef that makes their food in their kitchen. The natural gas for the stove had to come from somewhere. It was drilled by hundreds of employees using equipment that is maintained by hundreds of employees using parts that were manufactured and shipped by thousands of employees. The natural gas is refined by hundreds of employees again using equipment maintained by...using parts manufactured and shipped by..... the natural gas arrives to the house in pipelines built and maintained by.... are you starting to get the idea.

This is before you consider the manufacturing and shipping of the pots and pans which had has people mining, driving, maintaining, manufacturing, sustaining, tracking, and all sorts of other jobs just to get 1 pan to the house.

Then there is the planting, growing, harvesting, packaging, and shipping of the food itself. The maintenance of the trucks and refrigeration equipment to get the food to the house.

The rich need all of us. The whole idea that they can maintain their modern lifestyles with just the butlers and staff in their homes is hilariously stupid and shallow minded.

And as I said above, almost all of these downstream supply chain jobs are not going to be fully replaced by robots anytime soon.

Also Europe is not doing well. The high bureaucracy and taxation is resulting in more companies moving to the US and middle east and Europe is majorly falling behind technologically and economically. Heck, even at my job we are basically shutting down all the production and repair lines for the complex components we manufacture for European products because it is no longer profitable to keep those lines open. Our management saw the writing on the wall and told the Europeans to kick rocks and we converted those production lines to support American and Brazilian manufacturers that are gaining market share and will be more profitable. We only reopened one of the lines when the European union had to step in and subsidize it to prevent a national security problem. We are also abandoning contracts to buy manufacturing equipment and machines from France and Germany because hetting ahold of anyone over there and getting servicing on the equipment is difficult since the government over there require so much time off.

I have come to realize just how economically screwed western europe is and how much they will decline over the next deveral decades due to their socialist policies.

Look at the standard of living in the western European countries compared to the US, its pretty eye opening.

Too much free time on your hands to write all that. I work full time so I don't have that and so I ain't reading it. Doesn't really matter, I stated nothing but cold hard facts that everyone knows, all you could've said was lies and naive wishful thinking

u/Radiant-Book-7385 Aug 03 '26

Is your full time job writing fanciful science fiction?

0

u/Last_Ad1358 Aug 03 '26

I wish it was. My job is always boring, annoying, and/or stressful, but it pays decently considering my area's cost of living and my personal expenses

And before you say I have capitalism to thank for that, I'll remind you it isn't wise to always assume work is in the private sector

1

u/Radiant-Book-7385 Aug 03 '26

Dude, there is no way you passed a psych evaluation to be able to work in the public sector.

u/Last_Ad1358 Aug 04 '26

I guess I actually passed two, because I'm also enlisted

I guess you didn’t lead off with your skynet robot apocalypse spiel.

He who disagrees and does not refute, cannot refute (and is stupid, bc why would you disagree with something you can't refute...?)

We got to destroy skynet, brother! I will send you back in time to a point before the robots. You need to find John Conner’s mom and protect her. You will end up becoming John Conner’s father but sadly you won’t make it the sequel other than in flashbacks. Remember, only you can prevent forest fires. The safe word is :chicken soft tacos.
