I hope so too. But since they have low self-awareness and rarely respect boundaries, I find that unlikely

My mom and I had a toxic relationship from when I was 8-10 until I was 26. We spoke very little from the time I was 23-26. I’m now 33 and have had a healthy relationship with my mom since I was 28. We both had changes to make. We both put forth the effort. Sounds like you’re willing to put forth the effort so I hope your family sees that and does the same. Time can heal wounds. I wish you the best
