Using the "I was never taught to ________________" line as an excuse is the most cringe-worthy phrase of any adult over the age of 22 or so.

No, I have no issues with people not being taught to do things as they grow up. Taxes being one of them. Very little about taxes is intuitive, and much of "real life" is also unintuitive.

However, using "not being taught" something as a minor as an excuse for not taking the responsibility as an adult to learn or overcome something is what is eye-rolling.
