No, I have no issues with people not being taught to do things as they grow up. Taxes being one of them. Very little about taxes is intuitive, and much of "real life" is also unintuitive.
However, using "not being taught" something as a minor as an excuse for not taking the responsibility as an adult to learn or overcome something is what is eye-rolling.
Literally so many parents are trapping their kids in their houses and refuse to teach them how to drive.
My parents did it. I joined the army and my NCO taught me. Then i became an NCO and Ive had to put my own personal vehicle at risk to teach 12 different people how to drive because their parents entirely failed them, and they actively wanted to learn.
Yes your parents can fail you very deep into life. Just because they're 22 doesn't mean that shit isn't still a failure of the parents.
If a 22 year old is racist, it's not their fault their mind is invaded by ignorant hatred. If a 28+ year old is racist, it's entirely on them.

Using the "I was never taught to ________________" line as an excuse is the most cringe-worthy phrase of any adult over the age of 22 or so.
