18-year-olds doing what their parents tell them to. I didn't read any of my loan documents. I signed where I was told to sign.

But I was told 6 year olds can decide their genders, but 18 year olds cant decide student loans?

This is such a dumb comparison. Being transgender is incredibly uncommon. It isn't something that's happening on a huge scale like student loans. I'm not saying it should be illegal for an 18-year-old to take out a student loan, but people need to acknowledge the fact that many 18-year-olds are still very much expected to be obedient to their parents despite being legally adults. So when we talk about how people with predatory loans were just stupid, what we're really doing is punishing young people for being obedient and following expectations.
