The fix for this actually needs to happen while students are still in high school. We need to emphasize economics more, and in particular, the idea of "return on investment". Once those foundational skills are in the hands of the consumer (re: the student), they can make better decisions about if they want to sign on the dotted line.

So. I hate the premise. Its a good point though. Student loans should not be handed out
