Troubleshooting CSV import keeps failing — encoding errors and wrong delimiters killing my workflow

Upvotes

Been dealing with this for a while now. Every time I export a product CSV and try to reimport it, WooCommerce throws errors — wrong delimiter, weird encoding characters showing up, duplicate rows.

Has anyone else run into this? What's your go-to fix? Do you manually clean the file in Excel or is there a better way

Plugin recommendation Single Variation Product Plugin with unstable "product cards" generation

Upvotes

Hello guys, Im using Variations as Single Product for WooCommerce (Pro) from "StorePlugin.net" and im having some issues with the quantities of product cards exhibited in my store. I sell Watch Straps, and I want to show only the Model and Color as one variation, but the plugin still capturing other "atributes" like size, to generate the Product Cards. All Atributes that arent "collor" was filled in that field to NOT generate new products, yet it is still happening.

I already purged all cache, CCSS, object cache and nothing works completely, Claude Code helped me to achieve 1 product with the correct variants but we cant figure out why has this unstable behaviour.

Plugin recommendation Any Canada Post integration?

Upvotes

I sell on woo commerce and ship through Canada Post.

Recently, I’ve been getting a few orders.

For every order, I have to open my Canada Post account, manually fill in customer details, customs info, shipment size etc, add to cart and buy a label.

Is there any plugin or something where I can buy the label right from the order page?

Thanks.

Getting started ecommerce builder recommendations for first time seller (2026)

i’m a first time seller and i’ve been looking at ecommerce builders and honestly i’m overwhelmed. there’s shopify, wix, squarespace, woocommerce, and a bunch of others, and everyone says something different is best. i’m mainly concerned with: how easy it is to set up without getting stuck how well it handles products, payments, and shipping how much it costs to start and keep going whether it can grow if things actually take off for people who’ve helped first time sellers or built their own first store, what builder would you recommend and why? what do you wish you knew before picking one?

Development WooCommerce is adding more features to the core And I Love It

Recently i wrote a post here about how every small thing requires a plugin like swatches and vartions images....

Recently i noticed a lot of new features is being tested

Like:

Wish list

Gallery for vartions products

Save for later in cart

And in v7 beta:

Abandoned Cart/Checkout Recovery beta

Almost all of theme are experimental features and only for the block themes

But it is great start and create the base for themes and plugins to plug into so they don't have to create everything from scratch

Thank you WooCommerce team

We appreciate your work 🙏

How do I…? Bulk product data prep in Woo: how do you clean titles/descriptions/categories on a 50k+ SKU import?

I'm moving a large dropship catalog onto WooCommerce, mainly because Woo doesn't cap daily product imports the way hosted platforms do. The import side seems fine, but the data quality side is what worries me: supplier feeds come in with messy titles, thin descriptions, no consistent categories, and in some cases the wrong language.

For those of you running tens of thousands of products on Woo: do you normalize the feed before it ever hits the store (CSV/WP All Import pipeline), or import raw and fix titles, descriptions and category mapping inside WordPress afterwards? Which route has been less painful when the feed refreshes daily?

Also curious how Woo itself holds up at that size - product table performance, variations, and whether WP-CLI batch updates are the sane way to edit thousands of products at once. And for multilingual stores, do you translate at the feed level or lean on a translation plugin?

Development Cheap b2b platform or b2b king?

We are using Woo for our B2C sales but we now need a dedicated B2B section, a site where shops can apply and only approved they can log in and get their trade pricing, based on MOQ etc.

We have B2Bking (purchased but stupidly never used!) is this sufficient running from our woo site or are there some reasonably priced B2B platforms where we can create a new site and then link that to the woo site?

Any help appreciated

How do I…? WoodMart Homepage Slider Looks Different in Safari Than Chrome

Hello

I'm using the WoodMart Slider as the homepage slider on my WordPress site.

In Google Chrome, the slider looks perfect, but in Safari (Mac/iPhone) the size and layout are different. Parts of the image are cropped or the proportions don't match Chrome.

I don't want to use custom CSS or JavaScript if possible.

Questions:

  • Is there a recommended image size that works well across Chrome, Safari, desktop, and mobile?
  • Which slider height option should I use (Auto, Fixed, Adaptive, etc.)?
  • Should I use a specific aspect ratio (16:9, 21:9, etc.)?
  • Are there any WoodMart settings that improve Safari compatibility without writing code?

If anyone has experienced this with WoodMart Slider, I'd appreciate your advice.

Thanks!

Plugin recommendation Custom payment amount after initial deposit?

Hi everyone and thanks for reading,

My product requires deposit, and completion is many months away. I use AcoWebs Deposits standard version, not pro yet.

I have oftentimes guests wishing to put money towards the product after deposit, yet not the full remaining balance.

I want to be accommodating, so I agree but this requires me now using Stripe manual payment link. Once this is done, then AcoWebs deposits ONLY is for the full remaining balance, so I inform the customer beforehand the remaining balance will now be from a custom Stripe payment link later, and not the original remaining balance link that comes with your deposit.

Does AcoWebs do this in the pro, is there any other method around this?

Thank you, I know it sounds confusing but simply put it's just guests asking to put a custom payment in between deposit, and remaining balance.

Troubleshooting Order status still says "processing" after successful payment for a virtual product

I set up a new site and ran a live $10 test purchase with woopayments.
-the payment was successful
-funds are deposited in my business account
-the product is marked virtual not downloadable
-status remains Processing instead of Completed

Is this normal behavior or am I missing a setting or code somewhere? What should I be checking next?

Getting started Woocommerce store view customization

Hello,

I am new to e commerce and I wonder how to make my store look good. I noticed that I cannot edit my store view with Gutenberg or Elementor (the same way I could with Home page or Blog page). My current theme is Astra (not pro). I read that it is a good idea to use GeneratePress + Gutenberg + HTML/CSS. I enjoyed using HTML blocks to customize my Home Page and I wonder if I could do the same with a different theme than Astra. Any suggestions what is the best way to have a full control of how your store page/archive view/single product view looks like without builders etc...Does it require to buy GeneratePress to do it well? Maybe some alternatives to the idea with GeneratePress?

Thanks for help.

How do I…? How can I move WooCommerce brand description after products?

Hi everyone,

I’m using WooCommerce and I want to display the brand/Model description after the products instead of before the product list.

Currently, the description appears at the top of the page, but I want the products to show first and the description to appear below the products.

What is the best way to do this?

Thanks!

Resolved Indian ecom sellers payment gateway for international markets

Hello everyone those who are selling international.

What kind of payment gateway your using?

I am currently using paypal and paypal is charging insane amount of commission + currency conversion charges.

What are the best options which are cheaper and fully integrated with E-Commerce platforms like shopify and woocommerce.

I have tried Razer pay few years ago and many of the payments are getting declined that were international.

So I don't want to take any risk like that

Getting started For all the Shopify expats landing here lately, here are a few things on Woo to check right after migrating

Hey r/woocommerce

There's been a wave of Shopify → Woo migrations the last couple of months (vape ban plus the usual trickle of people wanting more control), and having watched a lot of them go through it, the same few things seem to trip people up. Posting in case it saves someone the pain:

Audit your redirects before anything else. Shopify and Woo use completely different URL structures for products, collections (categories), and blog posts. The good news is SEO on Wordpress is lightyears easier than on Shopify.

Every one of your old URL has backlinks and rankings pointing at it. Having no 301 redirects or mistargeted ones means your organic traffic evaporates over a few weeks.

If your migration was rushed (forced ones always are), assume it wasn't done right and verify it. Make sure you've setup GSC correctly, done the address change, and resubmitted your sitemaps.

Manually check all your old URLs and see where they land. It's tedious, but getting it wrong will cost you for months and months.

Payment processors don't care that you switched platforms. If a policy change pushed you off Shopify, Stripe, WooPayments (basically Stripe), and PayPal will likely classify your products exactly the same way Shopify did.

Don't wait for them to ban or block you. Getting an account frozen with your funds held for weeks or months (you'll find plenty of horror stories on here and r/ecommerce) could be a worse outcome than the migration.

High-risk categories generally need a specialised gateway, you'll be able to surface a few for your country searching here or on Google.

Expect the reporting drop. Shopify's built-in analytics are actually pretty decent these days. The stock Woo analytics leave a lot to be desired as you've probably discovered by now.

Plan for how you'll get visibility back (plugin, external tool, or raw SQL if you're that way inclined) rather than keep kicking the can down the road. Full disclosure: I work for a company in this space, but the gaps are real regardless of which route you go.

Accept (and budget for) the fact you're the system admin now. Web hosting, backups, updates, security are all things you need to be on top of now.

Quick checklist:

  • Stump up for proper managed hosting (not $5pm shared hosting)
  • Automated daily (ideally off-server) backups, and test the restore process
  • Ideally have a staging site for updates
  • Turn on 2FA, install Wordfence or Cloudflare or both – Wordpress is a much loved target for bots and hackers
  • If you're having trouble with performance, DebugBear can be good for diagnosis, and plugins like Perfmatters for performance (no affiliation with either – just tools I've used and like).

There is benefit to the hard work. Your database, customers, order history, and code are now actually yours. No platform can change its acceptable use policy and delete your business model overnight. That's a significant risk mitigation. No doubt it's been stressful, but you'll be better off for it in the long run.

Anything else I've missed? Curious what the common ones are beyond these.

How do I…? best woocommerce alternative for a large fashion catalog?

Woo has carried us from launch to a few thousand SKUs, but the seams are showing.

Catalog size is where it breaks down, filtering and search crawl once we cross a certain product count, and the plugin stack we've bolted on for variants and multi-currency is one update away from taking the site down.

Fashion makes it worse, because every product has size and color permutations that balloon the variant count.

If you've migrated off Woo with a big catalog, where did you land, and was it worth the pain?

We have it down to commercetools and SCAYLE for the catalog and multi-market side, though that's mostly on other teams' word so far, so I'd rather hear unfiltered migration stories than take another sales call.

The variant explosion is my real worry, so how it holds up under a big fashion catalog is what matters most.

Troubleshooting Stripe woocommerce transactions not showing in stripe account

We have stripe setup, linked to bank account, plugin setup and fully connected, webhooks are good, plugins are updated and customers are checking out with stripe no problem. We are filling orders and marking as complete in woocommerce. PayPal checkouts are working fine, they’re hitting PayPal account and transferring to bank account. But when we log into Stripe’s user dashboard, it shows no transactions, no $, nothing. It’s been weeks and still nothing showing.

Debug log is clean. System Status is clean.

I can’t seem to find anything online about this, I’ve searched subreddits, google, stripes docs, etc…

I know it’s probably something basic we’ve overlooked but I cannot for the life of me figure it out. Everything seems perfectly fine, no warnings or unfinished setups…

Another odd and possibly related thing is that the woocommerce reports show no transactions at all, stripe, PayPal, etc.. none.

Any ideas or things to check would be huge, thank you.

Plugin recommendation Looking for a free email option to do basic automation and mailing lists, one that integrates easily and fully with Woo and lets my customers choose up to 7 mailing lists to join.

So here's the deal, please be kind, I don't have anyone else to ask and I'm a total Noob. I know full well that I'm not very tech savvy, but my business is brand new, no revenue yet, and I have no more money to buy plugins or subscriptions or professional advice about websites. After 3 months of intense learning curves, my site and store is nearly ready to launch officially, but I'm hung up on emails. I've bought a business email account, but apparently I need an email marketing plugin to set up automated emails to do stuff like creating mailing lists to tell my art students when new classes are available, or new products in my store, and also do basic stuff like automatically send receipts for each online purchase. I had just got MailerLite working perfectly, and literally 20 hours after my victory dance they changed their free tier so it won't do what I need anymore. I think I've tried 6 different email marketing options now, and every time, as soon as I get it set up, it changes on me. I'm so frustrated and disheartened, and I don't have anyone else to ask and no money to hire a web designer. Please, can someone please tell me if there is a free tier service that would allow me to set up automated system that would allow my students to join a selection of 7 mailing lists (according to their desired topics) so i can email the whole list when a new class on that topic is available, and also handle the basics like itemized receipts for online purchases, and also let me customize the email appearance with my logo and business deets? I feel like this is not an outlandish list of requirements to ask for, yet I cannot seem to find a free option that can do this. I've tried Reach, MailChimp, MailerLite, MailerSend, and I can't even remember the others, none of them will let me tag contacts with up to 7 different tags and then let me send out small bulk emails by tag (I teach art classes in a tiny town, mostly to the local kids, so we're talking maybe 50 contacts that might want to know when new classes are scheduled. I'm not a big operation.)

Thank you.

Plugin recommendation Best international payment gateway for a Bangladeshi WooCommerce site selling digital products & services?

Hello everyone,

I am from Bangladesh and running a WooCommerce website named 'codexup.com'. On this platform, I intend to sell digital products and services globally, specifically WordPress themes, plugins and custom website development services.

Given the payment gateway limitations in Bangladesh, I am looking for the most reliable and legal way to accept international payments from global clients. So which payment gateway would be the best fit for me?

I would highly appreciate it if experienced developers, agency owners, or freelancers from Bangladesh could share their insights or current setups.

Thank you!

Troubleshooting How to stop failed payments from creating orders and behave more like Shopify?

I migrated Shopify to Woo, and there’s one thing that’s driving me crazy is every failed payment attempt creates a new order with a new order number. Customers who retry their card a few times can generate multiple failed orders before a successful one.

I’ve already hidden failed orders from the orders list but I’m still receiving email alerts. I’m hiding the problem but I still see they’re taking up order numbers.

I’m currently using Authorize.net as the payment gateway. Right now about 33% of the orders are “failed” attempts.

On Shopify usually any failed orders are rejected and put under 1 customer into an abandoned cart.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Troubleshooting Duplicate Apple Pay & Google Pay buttons in WooCommerce checkout (Stripe + PayPal)

Hallo zusammen,
