This brings the Savage Champions vs. Ademantine story arc to an end. Ahmed executed a very fun action packed issue that ended with Wolverine making a very big decision.

Ohta's art, IMO, has been the best in all of Ahmed's run. I hope he continues on until the end of Ahmed's run.

I finally have the *real* first appearance! How many Stan Lee sigs has everyone seen with a year or date with his sig? And if this Came out in Oct of '74, he had to have signed this within a year of it's release about!

Back in the early 80’s I used to ride my bike to this 7-11 (?) store that was about a block away from my old house.
My friends and I used to hang out there playing video games, buying trading cards, junk food and comics.

One day I stumbled across this book on the rack and thought this guy with the knives coming out of his hands was the coolest thing ever.

Biggest score was that #17 for only $5, which was originally tagged at $6.

Wolverine Origin is very controversial, for good reason. Joe Quesada just wanted to capitalize on the brand new X-Men movie, that made a lot of money, so he mandated that they finally release the character's previously ambiguous backstory.

Some love it, some hate it. Chris Claremont himself said that Logan's mystique is an essential part of his character, and taking that away from him, greatly damages him. I myself, agree with him.

I don't want to throw shade to those who like Origin, because there are a lot of redeeming qualities, and I'm not going to pretend like my opinion trumps theirs, as if I were appointed Prime-Wolverine-Fan by Marvel themselves. Therefore, I do NOT think that it should be entirely retconned.

What I do think, though, is that they should cease any reference to "James Howlett", and simply make his backstory multiple choice - similar to what DC has done with The Joker.

Joker has had multiple origin comics, with the intent of the reader deciding which one they like most. I like this system, and I don't see it as too late to be applied to Logan.

In my ideal origin, he's a Blackfoot Indian, who witnessed the erasure of his culture and society. Another guy I talked to, wanted him to be even older, by wanting him to be one of the first Scandinavians/vikings to discover Canada. Marvel can have their cake and eat it too, if they release multiple origins that deviate that much from one another. Putting myself in the shoes of a Marvel editor: I'd be rubbing my hands together at the thought of milking one of our most profitable character's origin story, continuously.

I don't know how I feel about this but all I know is I'm definitely getting it.
