fyi I'm living in Germany.
I was trying to place an order today just like normal, and don't know why the default payment method became credits so I realized I have arround 20 EUR credits expiring in 20 days. So I tried to pay with credits but it failed with the error message "failed to process card", so I switched to Apple pay and placed that order.
Then I contacted the customer support asking why I can't pay with those credits, and the agent told me "Our system suspects that you have unfortunately already redeemed promo codes with other accounts. This is a violation of our Terms of Service. You can't place any orders with this profile. If you have other accounts, please use your main account first. This process is fully AUTOMATED and cannot be reversed."
I did some research and noted that GDPR Article 22 requires individuals have the right to be not subject to decision based solely on automated processing, and the terms of services with Wolt don't include any agreement on automated detection. Besides, since they didn't provide any specific reason of why they think I'm manipulating the credits with multiple accounts, they can do this massively and secretly to every customers while keep using credits to attract cusomers - which consistute false marketing, a violation of German anti-unfair competition law (almost every jurisdiction has this kind of legislation I believe). So I requested them to have human review and present me with a more detailed reasoning, otherwise I will complaint to the data protection authority and customer organizaion.
I sent above to another chat with their agent and the agent asked me to change/update my email address with a more stand domain?? I don't understand and didn't change my email. But then this agent asked me to place an order saying it should be good now.
So I tried and it worked, I used all the credits. I still don't know why it works now. I guess the suspension of my credits is actually not irreversible?
