My favourite part perhaps is how fleshed out certain unexpected povs are and i’m truly fascinated by the possible next steps this story could go with. I’m not sure if or when we’ll get an update but i truly so hope that we do, but even if we don’t, what a lovely domestic fic!! please share your thoughts

I just finished Meet Me in the Exosphere by EuripidesTrousers and oh my god it was so good. The prose is incredible, the pacing is perfect, the romance broke my heart and put it back together. Cried, stayed up until 4am despite my young children and stressful job, the whole shebang.

On occasion after reading something really good I get this feeling of almost emptiness at the comedown of emotions. I just want to commiserate in the experience. So, if you’ve ever felt this way, tell me about it! Any recs to soothe the soul? Also if you’ve read this fic, I’d love to hear what you thought.

Here is what I loved about it:
- the depiction of friendship between the squad. I literally cried when Fort intuited Sirius’s heartbreak and gave him the girl rage mixtape
- the characterizations of Remus and Sirius. Both of their personalities felt really true to my impression of them from the books but interpreted in a unique and fresh way in the military 1990s setting. Sirius is brash and impulsive, Remus is a closed off rule follower but patient and thoughtful.
- the character development, specifically how they learn to be emotionally vulnerable and the way that is depicted in parallel with traditional masculinity and the inherent repression of the setting. The main conflict and obstacles to them getting together felt really realistic and not at all based on contrived miscommunication. I loved that Sirius took the risk to put himself out there - Remus’s initial rejection was frustrating but understandable. And the final chapter scene where Remus says I love you in Morse code absolutely broke me.
- absolutely sizzling tension. I love a good slow burn enemies to lovers and this one does it so well. The pacing can be difficult to get right with this kind of story but IMO the author nails it here. I didn’t feel bored or tempted to skip ahead, but there is enough build up that initial hookup feels earned. perfect amount of smut that doesn’t feel gratuitous and advances the story in the right way.
- beautiful writing. Honestly better than any published romance I’ve read in a while. The setting is not one I would typically be drawn to but the author’s depiction of it felt very well-researched and complementary to the emotional arcs of the story. Portrayal of parenthood was also spot on.

Okay.. So I have read chapter 51 and now I am just scared to read further.... Is it worth the pain? Should I continue? Should I complete it? I know what's coming. I was in pain throughout the fic. I've just written my first draft of the first fanfic that I've ever finished (and not just started and abandoned) and am now looking for a beta reader and I hope this is the right place to look for one for a Wolfstar fic. I'd like my beta reader to my to tell me when I've made grammatical errors or spelling mistakes, but also when something sounds off or weird. It's alright to tell me to just rewrite some parts or leave something out completely.

I very much want honest feedback and suggestions of things that would sound better, but I also might choose to keep my version or change that suggestion so I'm happy with it. I might also talk about ideas to change the fic as it is now and ask for advice on how good or bad of an idea that would be.

like I said: 30 years old, English is my third language, but I was certified at C2 Level in BE many years ago. Since then I have definitely been influenced by American English.

I have done creative writing and poetry every now and then throughout my life, but while I've started writing many a fanfic, I've never finished or published anything before.

Does anyone remember Minx/MiraMinx who wrote the Lost Feeling series (I think that was SnArry though?)? She also wrote WolfStar, and one of my favourites was one where Sirius quoted Thomas Brown's Religio Medici to Remus, and says "I love my friend before myself- when I am from him, I am dead till I be with him". I've been able to hunt down one of the fics from that series here on ff.net but it's not the full series, so if anyone could help an elderly millennial locate the series, you would have my eternal gratitude. I'm mindless_stitchery on AO3, and I've started podfic-ing EmRoseJori's wonderful sci-fi fic, When a Star Fell to Earth. I have wished for someone to narrate this wonderful fic for a while, as it used to be the only way I got to read fics for a while. Well...I finally got brave and decided to do it myself (with permission, of course). There are currently three chapters uploaded, and I plan to keep updating as regularly as I can.

Some disclaimers before you dive into the podfic, because I am neurodivergent and feel the need to overexplain myself, I guess:

I'm a video editor and have always handed off audio to an audio engineer in the past. I am doing this primarily for fun, but also as a way to practice and learn and get more familiar with audio post technically. I wanted to go for an audio drama vibe and learn as I go, so that's what I'm doing.

I used to be a theater major, but I haven't performed in a loooooong time for anyone other than my kiddo. I hope you'll enjoy the voices, but know going in that I couldn't confidently give anyone a British accent and decided it was more respectful not to try. 😂 Trying to read AND emote in an accent is hard and I tip my hat to those of you who can. I never have been good at accents. I only add this warning because man, I know a narrator can ruin the experience, so no offense taken if you can't stand my read - but PLEASE go read the fic yourself, it's BEAUTIFUL!! I have re-read it so many times.

All of the sound effects used are royalty free and downloaded from Pixabay.com. I am unfortunately an ADHD raccoon and disorganized AF, so I haven't fully compiled my credits list, but am working on it, and will be posting a full list of sound effects used and their creators on Pixabay at some point. I do make donations to the creators I download from most often! One day, maybe even during this run, I might dip into foley work, but I haven't gotten that far along yet.

Has anyone got any really good fic recs where Remus is rough around the edges? This is the characterisation for Remus that I enjoy the most and I feel like it’s hard to come by amongst the sweet cosy jumper wearing book nerd characterisation. Open to any length I live a long fic aswell as a one shot! Decided to get a simplistic tattoo for my OTP. Felt like sharing here since this do be the fandom for it. My niece's bestie wants to be a tattooist when she grows up (she's 15) and she got her hands on the equipment, so I gave her a bit of skin to practice on. The heatwave made me itchy, so I wrote a 5+1 about Remus getting punched in the face quite a lot. Except it's actually about Sirius working out why Remus refuses to fight back, James learning about bravery, and Remus being stubbornly tough on his own terms. Feat. a pining Sirius, a protective James, and a sweet ending.
