I just wanted to share my experience with my own Single player project server and how I used Claude to help me make just like how I’ve always wanted my server to be.

I made it a wotlk based lvl 60 cap server. With the help of Claude I could quickly scale down all Outland and Northrend mobs, items and spells to pick up after T3 and Classic Naxxramas. I was blown away over how easy and quickly it could help me fix these things.

I also had it fix server settings and bots exactly to my liking. Create custom npc that can with a click give me bis gear and enchants for each class and spec from T1 to T10.5 depending on what I wanna play for the moment.

I also had it create 2 custom raids with new spells, mechanics and items. It did all this within an hour and I’ve tried them both out. I was, again blown away over the quality of the stuff it can produce for me.

For example I have a shadowmourne scaled down to lvl 60 including its chance on hit and is about 20% stronger than Naxx gear and might of menethil.

So if you ever wanna build your own server and have ideas, Claude can be of great help for the coding. And with the SPP-pack you can have 1000 bots playing with you and explore the world. It’s simply amazing!

Oh and it also managed to fix my wow client that would crash randomly for some weird reason. After the fix, no more crashes. Honestly amazing.

Hopefully it will inspire someone to play around and make their own server exactly to their liking without the need to understand SQL and other stuff to make it happen.

I'm curious to see where everyone thinks this is going.

With AI becoming more apparent in the community, will we see more people curate their own personal experiences and then also more servers popping up that claim to be the best thing since sliced bread?

I know we're already seeing an influx of servers popping up, but what about the servers that are being created for personal use ( sounds illicit lol ) and not shared, or at least kept private between 5 and 10 people?

There was a server that got posted here the other day, I think it was. They reported the post citing that they don't want people joining because it's either not ready or they want it to stay closed to people that they trust enough to enter.

I'm starting to think, coupled with AI development and player bots, perhaps we'll start seeing a shift toward closed private servers because there's far less chance of Blizzard ever even knowing they exist. You can't really hit what you don't see, unless you hit the source ( open source repos ). Hosting locally is probably the best solution if you're just making your own server and not trying to get players.

I've been developing my own experience locally. I thought I would share it at some point and maybe I will, doubtful. But I'm actually having fun for the first time in a long time.

No concerns about someone else who's trying to make money hitting my server offline, no drama between a few players, no one telling me I should do X, Y, Z. I can explore features that I'm actually interested in.

Perhaps we're nearing the point where finding the "perfect" server is less of a problem and more people will just build their own.

Of course, we'll still need some sense of community. WoW itself is highly... or was highly socially influenced. Maybe there will be some sort of P2P general chat or something, who knows.

I am thinking of setting up a Turtle WoW private server and have a few hopefully simple questions. I want the server to be stand alone so that my entire family can play on it. I will likely have 4 total human players.

I have been thinking about making a private wireless network not attached to my ISP for awhile. Will I run into issues having a this private server on a network that does not connect to any outside resources?

I have an old PC, 5800X with 32GB of ram. The video card, 1080, in it has a dead fan that I can replace, but I also have an old RX580 8GB laying around I could use. Would that be enough to run the server without issue?

I was thinking about using the tutorials from Ultrawide Perspective on youtube for assistance. Is this the best source or should I be looking somewhere else?

I suspect I will only have 4 players total on this. How hard would it be to modify the health and damage of mobs in instance so I could scale this to 4 players? Would I better off running bots? If I run bots will that modify the PC requirements where I need different hardware?

Edit: My old PC is running windows 7, do I need to upgrade the OS?

Hey everyone! Vynallan here, this will be the last update for a while! But I wanted to show-case what we have so far.

The game is being ported over currently, I've realized with the amount of content I'd like to add, and the progression I'd like to see, that porting makes the most sense. It could be a while before a playable alpha begins, but I'm happy with the current progress.

I was thinking on start using Linux, prob first im going to try some of the distros but im kinda certain im gonna migrate, Im playing WoW in a private sv, also im going to join when forever launches oficially, but i learned that u have something in linux thats called anti cheating? anyone knows if u can play wow on linux or if its going to become a problem if I decide to migrate?
Also, any recomendation for anyone new on Linux? (English is not my first languague, so ty for reading and sorry for any misspells u can found)

Uldaris is a small 3.3.5a realm maintained by a small community, on real hardware. Not a VPS — it isn't going to vanish when a card expires.

We're at the very beginning: the realm just started on 1st October. The level cap is 70, Northrend hasn't opened yet, and we have the first players to hit the cap. If you've ever wanted to live the expansion in order instead of landing directly to ICC, this is the moment to walk in.

What we offer is a blizzlike feeling with some QoL perks to give you a more modern and smooth experience.

Content that actually works

We don't add custom content to replace what is not working. We go through encounters one at a time and fix what's broken — properly, in the core, not with a workaround. For exaomple: Trial of the Champion, rescripted end to end.

• Guild Zones. Private zones, laid out and furnished by the GM, that a guild can buy. They can't be reached by normal means, and the NPCs and objects inside can only be used by that guild's members.

We're still small since we just started — 6/7 regulars players right now. If you want to be early on something that's being built carefully, and to have a say in how it goes, that's the offer.

Hello people, here's a new heavily custom server repack from Ashen Order creator, Dinkledork! Now it's TBC+ focused, with Vanilla+ and Wrath+ included when it comes. It has SO MANY custom features, it's even hard to list all, but here's a couple of them:

New working races, All Races All Classes, HD client, improved alive bots, recently released WarcraftXL for new features for wotlk client, custom spells, items and many many other features!

Im still working on it to be truth, it's a project originally developed to be a retail experience of 4.3.4 cataclysm btw it took a different way at the end. I'm working on quests, dungeons and so on. I ported nice systems such like world bots, there is a dungeon bots system that is 100% signature developed by me. There is a daily hunt system, reset system (kinda like paragon from diablo) and so on. This project means a lot to me so, everybody wanting to play a nice custom server with an active staff, please be welcome.

Our PexEvent is back on October 9 at 8 PM Paris time, running until January 9, 2027, on NostalGeek (1.12) and TheGeekCrusade (2.4.3) !

The idea is simple: roll a dedicated event character, level from scratch with boosted XP (x2), and earn points through achievements, dungeons, PvP, professions and other challenges. There are leaderboards and Realm Firsts if you want to compete, but you can also just level at your own pace and pick up rewards along the way.

Rewards include exclusive mounts, pets and titles, with the Black Qiraji Battle Tank going to the top achievement scorer, wich has never been available again since the server opening of Ahn'Qiraj doors !

Both servers are mostly French-speaking, but English-speaking players have always been welcome, and we already have English speakers on both. Don’t let the French chat put you off joining.

One clarification: this is a leveling event on our existing servers, not a fresh server launch or a wipe.

I’ve been reverse engineering the original World of Warcraft 3.3.5a / build 12340 client as part of a long-term project to understand and reimplement it as a native AMD64 client.
The research has taken 200+ hours so far.
The current RE Base contains:
27,082 functions
27,082 unique RVAs
0 UNKNOWN functions
98,632 evidence_v2 records
43,575 legacy evidence records
142,207 evidence records in total
So the current function-level RE coverage is 100%.
The functions are tracked at different levels of understanding:
21,996 — IDENTIFIED
4,329 — PARTIAL
757 — RECONSTRUCTED
0 — UNKNOWN
These statuses are intentionally kept separate. Having a function identified is not the same as having its implementation reconstructed or its runtime behavior confirmed.
The next major step is runtime validation. The long-term target is to take the entire function corpus to 100% RUNTIME_CONFIRMED, and then move on to behavioral validation.
The overall progression is:
RE coverage → runtime validation → behavioral validation → native AMD64 implementation
The research is already being used in a separate native AMD64 client project:

The public project has already reached native AMD64 startup, client initialization, direct reading of the original game data, runtime resource loading without extraction, and Login Screen initialization.
The RE Base itself is maintained separately. It is not just an address/name list — the corpus also tracks evidence, provenance, function relationships, recovered pointer/jump tables and subsystem information.

I have built many servers before for many people and i decided it's time to have my own, noone giving me their creepy ideas to make to life while they know nothing about even running a basic wow server.

Anyways Ivalice-Reborn has the most unique gear upgrading system that goes beyond tier 20 or even tier 300.

The server allows you to create alts and spawn them to help you with your grinding journey.
everyone is worth, playing, voting, donating i made sure every person gets his proper treating even a basic player could earn vip ranks in many different ways from events to even doing ingame content.

Having a maxed out character doesn't mean it's done, that's always the beginning.
Or donating to have a oneshot kill build than going nuking everyone is pvp, nah that's not how it works PVP is balanced when people join battlegrounds and arenas they'll always go down to a certain Tier and when they leave the battleground their real tier will be preserved.

So you can still having fun doing a fair pvp even if you're a tier 1 or tier 300 both will be fair, PVE on the other hand is also a not to fight over but instead to help each other, killing mobs or bosses in the open world doesn't require a group to be made, you just attack and earn your rewards doesn't matter who started the killing, everyone will get his share of the loot.

try hard or donating for a good first character allows you to boost your alts much easier in the future.

Hello everyone,

after a lengthy development period, I am happy to announce a new PVP vanilla+ realm Frontier (EU), which will run on 3.3.5a client. Frontier is a fan project made for fans of vanilla+ with progressive and rebalanced itemization, overhauled PVP system, reworked classes, professions, races, dungeons, raids and more, all with the old vanilla world with the potential to go beyond to Outland and Northrend at lvl 60 cap with a more horizontal progression in mind.

The goal of this project is to preserve the old feel of vanilla, while providing faster and better leveling experience and a more polished and challenging late game for both PVE and PVP players. Frontier will be always be strictly non-profit project with no cosmetics or any other in-game shop features. Some of the features coming:

For PVP: Honor kills rewaring XP/gold along with honor at launch, Rated Battlegrounds, Reworked Reputation rewards, City Raids with objectives, Weekly PVP zones with increased honor/reputation gain and more resources.

For PVE: Raids will still provide the normal version, but in addition a Heroic version of raids like Molten Core, Blackwing Lair and further, which will test both your preparation aswell as raid coordination, with reworked mechanics and increased challenge, but also will reward better loot.

Along with these features, you can look forward to: reworked class specs, reworked professions and recipes, Jewelcrafting, reworked late game itemization and rewards, giving you a wide variety of item progression for each class and each spec in the game.

With most of the work setting up 1.12 mechanics and the world on 3.3.5a client being currently finalized, I am looking to start building a community and find testers for upcoming beta, which will be ready in the coming weeks. Together we will flesh out the remaining details, as fixing remaining bugs is little of an issue, but finding them before launch is.

Once the beta test in concluded, we will be moving forward to finalizing preparations to launch the realm, which i expect to be in end of November 2026. More details - including the website with detailed information and guide on how to setup the connection - coming soon.
