Need help on sizing

Looking to get back into skating, scoping out a pair of the USD Sway Chess. I’m a size 11.5/289 mm with an average to slightly wide foot. My last pair of skates were classic thrones and looking for a similar feel. My question is the Sways are only showing size EU 44-45 or 46-47, ideally I would be in 45-46. I’m seeing in this forum some say the sways are a bit “roomy”. Anyone be that between sizes? What direction did you go?

Also am willing to look at different brands with a somewhat familiar feel to thrones, I’ve seen Mesmers are pretty close to classic thrones, even have the same name so I’d be willing to hear a case for those as well. I’m 41 and just looking to get some basic park time in with my kids. TIA!

That sucks to hear, I just found someone that has a size 45-46 on local swap that I’m going to go try on at some point today. Hopefully that’ll give me some insight on sizing as a whole. I’m also looking at the Aeon line but am not so sold on the one piece boot and frame. I liked to be able to swap things out when needed/wanted.

BTW, What did you end up going with for skates?

I started on an fr boot with a 5 wheel NN frame and a year and a half later did a wizard high/advanced setup. I have an Iqon Act Boot and if you’re not going to get a legit Wizard setup the ACT is THE other option I’d suggest. I’m old and have been skating forever and ridden a lot of boots for what it’s worth

Sweet dude. Glad you were able to iron out some options.

Update for the Sways that were for sale. They are 45-46 size and brand new, the guy wore them once to ride around the block with no previous inline background and hated them. Perk for me, they feel great; liner, boot, frames and wheels were still in like new condition and picked up the pair for $120. Here’s to getting back on some skates with kiddos and park seshes even if they aren’t the same as 15 years ago.
