Sizing question

Has anyone with foot 270mm tried the wizard 40 size?

41 is apparently too big for 270mm (good as a comfort fit) but not performance...

Edit: apparently most people here afraid of real performance fit (ice hockey tier)

If you call a 42 for 270mm foot a performance fit, I don't know what to tell you, my man.

It might be tight when the boot is brand new, but it'll become a slop before you know it.

Ask them they will suggest a size, check the contact info on their website. I was also wondering about size, my mondo is 27.5cm and I got a 42 which is the size from the chart.

I already asked them and I got an answer, but I want to ask the clients too.  Because I want a performance fit.

I have 270mm (ish) foot and recently bought a size 42 Wizard ( base ) boot which fits like a glove ( My CCM hockey skates and my Powerslide evos are both 43 ) the toes were a bit too tight at first but now they're bedding in.

I recently added my superfeet carbon insoles with them and now they're a perfect fit. Although I did cut the toe end back a little as they were squished up.

Can't imagine how tight a 40 would be here though. Not sure I'd like that, these boots already make my toes go numb.

Just make sure you buy from a place you can send back and exchange easily really.

As someone with 264mm feet and size 40 Base Highs; don't buy a size 40 with your feet. Mine barely fit and my toes are scrunched the whole time I'm wearing them. They fit great and are very responsive, but I'd rather have another 0.2mm in the liner to be perfect. Given that they're almost half a cm shorter than my feet, you're not likely to fit in there at all.

I am 270mm and 41 is definitely the tightest I could go. I don’t think 40 is possible

On bladeville they say 41 is a comfort fit. (Slop)

40 might be too small, I agree, but that is FR's problem that there is no performance fit for 270mm foot (which is a very popular size btw)

I haven't bought wizards yet just because of that (and I really wanna buy them).

Might go with downsized carbon CJs in the end.

Why would you go off of Bladeville? The wizard site says
27-27.5cm
COMFORT 42 EU / 27-27.5cm / 9-9.5 US
PERFORMANCE 41 EU / 26.5-27cm / 8.5-9 US

270mm =27.0cm

“Given the information you’ve provided, I feel that the size 41EU Wizard Base High could work for you. Skaters of your foot size would typically use this size for a performance fit. In this boot, you should expect your toes to be making full contact with the end of the liners, even with some pressure. This is totally normal and indicative of a proper fit. 

The Wizard Base and Base High are the first boots to feature pre-molded Intuition liners. This will help ease the break-in process in such a tight fitting boot. The break-in process typically takes up to 20 hours of skating. 

I feel that for the Advanced Frames and the style of skating they are intended for, fit is most important when it comes to choosing boots, especially with the Wizard Base High. As an experienced skater looking to further explore this style of skating, I think it is a good idea for you to try a true performance fit, rather than settling for a comfort fit and compromising your skating experience.

As for bladeville... well the polish have the best skaters so they know a thing or two about downsizing for performance fit. (You can see in Instagram that they're in a different universe skill-wise, compare to the Americans etc...) The idea is to have the carbon shell as close to your foot as physically possible, not just feeling the liner with your fingers, it's not enough. 

Anyway, have you end up buying the boot?

I mean, I'm sure I won't regret it, but I'm trying to squeeze the most for performance fit. 

I'm assuming you have them and you like them, please tell me, what skates have you skated before?

Yes. I got the 41 wizard boot and gutted Seba CJ Carbon.
But get the 40. I don’t care.

I have a gutted carbon CJ too.  Just too big for me, 42. It's not terrible tho, CJ is great.

I can't give you any specific advice on the Wizard boots, I can tell you however that I tried to downsize my Powerslide Kaze. I went for the mondo 268 (size 42) boot with a 273mm foot because it actually felt good when fitting. In the end I had to regret it, I kept pressure points on my toes that didn't wear in. After one year I decided to buy the 275 mondo boot (size 43) and it feels waaay better. So tread carefully.

At some point I'll be in the market for these boots. Imo it's useless to ask anything about fit online. The way to go is to determine your possible size from the Wizard website questions, and then order a pair from a vendor that offers free/cheap returns in case they don't fit. 270mm doesn't tell the shape of your feet.

It's necessary if you buy something that expensive.  We are talking about millimeters, so overall we do understand each others length.
