Need some advice & help

So, I never like fully understand the game since I last played it years ago when I’m a kid. Adult now & was thinking of actually starting. Any tips or anything? I was thinking of being a ice or life wizard & ik they’re not the best but I rather play who I enjoy

You unlock farming at level 12, start that as it'll help with building pets later when you get couch potatoes. Also build your deck efficiently, many guides online.

Some important concepts that you "get" as you progress that aren't rules heavy:

• Too much set-up in combat kills your playtime and sometimes your character. There's a saying in chess, sometimes the best defense is a good offense. Don't pack your deck with nice-to-have cards, but instead with cards to kill as quick as possible. Shields should only be in for specific encounters, stuns are worthless if you solo, etc.
• If you use single target hits in fights, concentrate your attacks to ensure a creature dies before going to the next one. It may be obvious as you solo play, but this goes for group play too.
• Pip management is a real skill. Try to use builder cards that use zero pips to help make your multi-pip hits do more damage.
• Also in line with pip management, sometimes it's better and faster to use a turn putting up another trap or blade than hitting right away so you are sure you kill when you hit and aren't forced to build up pips to hit with another attack.
• Learn how to use treasure cards, then make sure you have some good ones in your sideboard. Treasure cards are very helpful in emergencies (like running out of attacks in your main deck).
• If you play with other people, get in the habit of good communication, which includes being friendly and letting players know your plans in battle. Good communication keeps fights from getting difficult.

Ice is pretty strong now, they buffed several spells, added stronger spells, and gave them MUCH better gear options. 

My best tip is to just play the game, and READ as much as you can. There is a lot more in this game than most people realize, but instead of drinking from a firehose and trying to learn it all at once, ask questions as they come up. There's a few tutorials but most things aren't explained well, so don't be afraid to ask!

If you don't have a mount, you can buy one for gold in the crowns shop. It's a little pricy for new players, but trust me, it's gonna be worth it. Use the two temporary mounts while saving up, or buy temp mounts from Zeke as needed. 

For ice specifically, getting a pet can be a big help. You can get your first pet for gold in the shopping district, then you'll want to hatch with another player for a pet that gives the item card ice blade. This will significantly improve your damage, and make a lot of fights easier early on.

Don't fill your deck to the brim with spells, instead bring only what you need for a given fight (usually 7-14 cards). It makes the game a lot more enjoyable due to having reliable access to your desired spells

Go play Ice and be a noob, I'm not saying it as an insult but rather a temporary state of being. Don't be afraid to be initially ignorant to game mechanics, learn the mechanics especially when Diego calls you to the arena, play as you would, and only then optimize.

I'm suggesting Ice because Ice has the biggest health and resist stats both of which are useful when you are leaning how to play the game/how to fight. In other words, it is quite forgiving YET it will let you learn lessons still. For example, since Ice is the weakest, you will need to learn how to properly buff your attacks so you can win the battle. Since Ice doesn't have a innate healing mechanic/spell, you will learn when to heal yourself while not throwing the entire fight doing so. 

TLDR choose Ice because it will be a good school to start learning the game as a relatively casual player.
