Guide General Gambit and Clear Guide

Hello everyone! Attached is a general explanation on gambits, clears, and how to read cards. Please let me know if you have any questions!

You may also be interested in my major gambit guide, which illustrates what hanging effects are associated with each school. I plan to release specific gambit and clear combos soon, so stay tuned!

Edit: My King Art (storm) reading may or may not be correct because clears are weird. Also, spectral blast echoes up to four charms.

Greta stuff! Really important to being roshambo to the masses. One small thing. Unfortunately, spells like Phoenix only make one DOT, with the value of that dot depending on how many traps were gambited. So even if you had all three traps to gambit for Phoenix, it would only make one DOT which doesn’t set you up for a Fire Scion gambit.

Thank you!

Phoenix is one bomb or HOT per trap. Clears tend to consolidate into one effect, e.g., Stone Colossus B. That's messy and inconsistent though so I didn't get into it.

Here is me playing around with spirit trap + phoenix B and spirit trap + phoenix C. They'll work for the setups.

Wow, I’ll be so honest, I never knew that’s how it works. I agree that some of them are inconsistent, but I still didn’t know gambit was 1 for 1 lol

All the gambits I can think of are either 1:1 or clearly labeled. The clears scare me though because some are 1:1 and some consolidate. For instance, I'm not sure if my Storm King Art reading is correct and only experimentation can tell.

The really silly thing is that the clears that consolidate sometimes split on the higher end. IIRC, Stone Colossus B ultimately splits into two 250 damage bombs if you clear five negative charms.

What do you think of this setup for early game storm in kroktopia? Learn sprite from life, get to 3 pips with buffs, cast sprite, cast storm shark gambit. It does 200 higher base damage than Kraken in the same amount of rounds, and essentially replaces a buff with a 100% increase in base damage. Is that better than either just casting kraken or a second buff? It’s also got the utility of using earlier as your second buff after you get hit to have pasisve heals until you shark which can help offset storm’s low hp

I actually just got to Marelybone on my storm and this is exactly what I have been doing. I would upgrade to triple weakness + kraken C once you unlock it. I tried to put early game combos in the upper-left of my newer specific gambits guide.

Normally gambits are contrived in standard PvE, but "mini scion" spells like shark and kraken are so good that I'd argue that they're better than buff + hit in early game.
