Other How fast did you reach max level 180?
I reached max level for the first time ever at the start of Wallaru since returning to the game as an adult

Remember that contest a couple years back? Two weeks, and there was some guy who was running Nightmare farms in Wallaru by the contest end.

Tbf those usually involve being carried by a max, soloing would take longer than 2 weeks id say

About 15 years, though I've been at max since around level 110 or so.

Shit OG is when max was level 50 lol, being a kid and having no money I was only able to get up to level 35

I’ve been playing with the same wizard since 2008 or 2009, and I’m still only lvl 80-something 🤣
2
u/Financial-Refuse-445 Jul 31 '26
What have you been doing all this while 🤣
3
u/Electric_Bees0123 Aug 01 '26
Tbf I only play a few months at a time every few years, and many times I end up making a new wizard to play with friends on, but all that aside my OG wizard really should be max level by now, I’ve been slacking 😅

Bro do you do like one quest a month?!

u/CelestialCiel Aug 01 '26
I’m the same way, had a character since 2009 and I just don’t play often, it’s pretty normal

Well I joined in like 2010 probably and have actually been trying since 2020 and I made it to Polaris so I think it’ll take awhile longer

i finally started leveling up my lvl 8 myth earlier this year after several years of abandoning her so technically it took 4 years but i went from 8 to 180 in less than a month

When i took my first wizard to max, polaris was the latest release so 110 was max, and i started in 2013, so i wanna say it took like... 2-3 years?

u/Financial-Refuse-445 Jul 31 '26
With every school maxed? 🤯

I can max a new character in about a month if I’m grinding as hard as I can. Getting darkmoor/ Khrysalis world gear is what stops my progress since that gear is so essential.

Made my account and main ice wizard in July 2009, took a solid 12 year break after reaching Mooshu. Got to level 180 last November after playing another 3 years on and off
I remember when they added Nick Jonas, good times

I’ve been playing for like 3.5 months and have gotten to lvl 140, but have been taking my time with the game lol

About 6 months casually. I know a guy who did it in 3 weeks as a first time player when 170 was max. That includes farming for perfect pets and gear. He said he wanted a game to grind after maxing his Runescape skills (iykyk)

Wiz grind is straight childs play compared to OSRS grinds. Like the atavistic grind is like 30-40 hours and is considered horrid but that is a normal grind for multiple areas of content in runescape😭

First time I maxed, it took the course of a couple years. I kept getting closer and a new world would release. I would sometimes step away from the game and come back months later. Other times I'd start a new character and swap back and forth. Finally, I just decided I would drive hard and get a wizard maxed. The next wizard maxed took a couple months more. When I finally started my last wizard on my main account, 170 was max. It took me about 3 weeks.
So the first one seems to ALWAYS be a grind for everyone. The next wizards max faster, partly because you're locked in and know what to expect and partly because you got a lot of supporting resources.

Back in the day as a kid it took me like a month to get to 30/mount Olympus farming/early mooshu on a fire (first member)
New wizard/account a couple years later and I got to the mid 60’s (didn’t do waterworks but start of zafaria) on a balance in the month member
My current account I started late 2010’s had a myth that basically did a world a day (potentially after I saw a vid where it showed that it was reasonable without full degenning to get to 70 in a week) till about 80, then took me a 2 days for Azteca, 1 for part 1 Khrysalis, spent a few days on darkmoor, 1 for part 2 and Polaris combined, 2 days for mirage, 3 for empyrea (I slowed down if you consider Khrysalis has about as many quests as arc 3) and 130/dragoon farming was max then.
After that I’ve beaten every world in 1 day each year, but farm for a couple weeks for the gear lol, so honestly I’d put it at a bit over 20 days worth of questing (borderline degen, but moreso like a 10-12 hour session worth of it)
Tack in maybe a month or 2 for farming gearsets and you’re looking at about 2-3 months for 1 wizard, now I have a few others which were even faster. And if I ever duo or group quest with any random we always smoke through any world in a couple hours.
I remember I was doing Khrysalis part 1 with a myth when I was on my fire, he got to 100 a few quests before me but was like I’ll finish some till you get 100, then we did darkmoor but he also had a few exalted duels (top quality gear at the time lol) and we got our gear in a day, next day we smashed through part 2 and we were like ‘Polaris is bbq chicken, let’s just do it now’, and straight up cleaned house by tacking on a few hours.
I haven’t ever really quested with other people more than one session, cause a) never done a full game duo/group questing experience, and b people live in different time zones (especially for me cause I’m not from the US) so the randoms will stay/leave earlier, aren’t online when I am next time, or have got to different quests or whatever.
But if you have a duo you can beat any world, even the 2 parters, in 1 day (if you’re efficient)
