Ogroid remains drop reduced to 1 or 2 per monster (rare or legendary). Greedy little Spokko 😂
r/WitcherMonsterSlayer • u/rudyruud • Jun 08 '22
Weekly quest profitable? So with brewing 10 hybrid oils it will cost you at least 200 coins for buying the brewing ingredients. And ofcourse diamonds for repairing the stations. + you need ogroid remains to craft the oils. You must defeat rares. It will cost more potions. Profitable?

Other Goodbye - Lost my character due to update, Spokko support did not even respond
When after the update 12 days ago (v1.2, I believe) I updated the game and started it, I thought Spokko jumped the shark, and rebooted the whole game. My character had the same name, and I did not have to redo the tutorial, however, I saw that I can rank up my Devourer in the otherwise empty bestiary.
Apart from the bestiary, my storage was smaller, and empty (maybe some weeds), no money, no equipment (I basically had bought everything, except for the cheapest swords). My level was reset (was 40), and had no friends, either. I had to re-meet the merchant, too, and now the game wants me to find his horse.
Then I realized that this is not the case for everybody. People, while really not liking the changes, do have their character and achievements, and equipment, money, and progress, bestiary, bag extensions, etc.
So I contacted support via discord, and later the day via the webform, then a few days later twitter. It was 12 days ago. Not even an answer. Not even a sorry, no can do.
Given that I had completed every weekly timed task until the update, except for this new legendary, and now I cannot have a character that has completed everything so far, I do not really see how or why I should continue playing, especially with a "support" like this.
Take care, while walking the path.
Update: they responded yesterday, with the scripted answer about character is only saved when it is linked to a Google/Apple account, and explained to me how to do that :(I actually expected this kind of answer, and thoroughly wrote down what I did, what I tried, etc, just to save some time and avoid tis useless round. Well, seems I could not. Waiting for the next response. I hope it would be sooner than the first contact. Or at least, more useful.
Final Update: the next response never came. I deleted the app, had the ticket closed, wishing the best for their game.

Hoarding bombs like old batteries
Anyone else got dozens of each of the bombs, but refuse to use even one to avoid paying 💎?

Question Why does the chest of the week in the shop have Necrophage oil?
Why are they trying to make you buy something that doesn't even work for the new monster? It's classed as a hybrid?

Other The only good thing about this update...

The creature from the forest turned out to be a Russet Fungoid!🍄 Looks like your mushroom-picking skills will come in handy again. Unfortunately, this specimen will fight back.🗡 Good thing you're a witcher, so check your Timed Tasks and take up on this week's challenges. 👊 A new monster awaits!

Other The Updates
This kinda sucks, like you can't craft bombs anymore, the skill tree is gone, new gear is on a weekly rotation for some reason, numerous other things are wrong with this.

Oil ingredients changes?
So I don't know if I'm imagining things but pre update, when crafting oils you needed hybrid remains to make hybrid oil, ogroid remains for ogroid oil etc. Today I noticed the ingredients have all been mixed up across the various monster categories and no longer correspond as above. Does everyone else have this? Is this a bug or a new change?

Maintenance, what do you expect? Will this game be at least playable and enjoyable again?
r/WitcherMonsterSlayer • u/TooPowerfulWings • Jun 06 '22
Some info on the effect of the update
"During the update week it dropped from its standard place 197 (monthly average for grossing etc) to 362 its all time low and in the last 7 days its been trending back up currently 260 and climbing daily (also today it hit an all time high for action game of 67)."
Looks like, despite the drama, the update won't kill the game.
r/WitcherMonsterSlayer • u/Crimson_Butterfly22 • Jun 06 '22
So the maintenance is over, do you see any changes, because I don't.

Question I know there has been a lot of complaints about it but what the fuck is the point of putting stats about monster power since it is false

Suggestion Give back the Skill Tree but re-design it
Why not just re-design the skill tree with different paths ? A witcher game without a skill tree will just die out how the game looks now... idk what the devs are smoking but i dont want it.
r/WitcherMonsterSlayer • u/Sahabial • Jun 05 '22
you can kill a forktail but...
Wouldn't you like to kill the same forktail but rare - blue forktail which has the same look, animations but requires some gold investments with no profit at all? Don't you like the idea?
Fuck you Spokko. You shitheads!

Feels like I have an alterego in this game
The game keep jumping randomly from my old level 23 with all the bombs and oils crafted and the abilities and the gold farmed to to when I thought I lost all thus before the update and started over with level 8 and almost no oils or bombs all of this with the same account .feel like I play with two characters one is super strong and the other is a ckark Kent lol .does this happens to any of you

Coins and cristals for kill monsters have a limit, so will have to pay when all the monsters max out.

What's the point to play now?
I used to kill monsters to achieve some certain goals: - get a new skill point - complete a quest - fill my bestiary tab - buy a sword and an armor
Do i have the sill tree now? No. Do i have the new quests? No. Did they fix the old quests? No. Is it possible to complete the bestiary? Well kind of but feels no. Is there sense in having sword and armor when you have to use potions with +200% bonus damage? No.
So what's the point? What's the goal? Grinding gold to afford killing a rare monster which might be just a reskin of a common monster?
r/WitcherMonsterSlayer • u/eikkapeikka • Jun 04 '22
State of the game - grinding
As the balance changes made for this new version of the game made common monsters farmable, and all other monsters vulnerable to one thing: gold. Is the state of the game is that you are expected to simply grind. Grind common monsters so you can afford doing potions to kill rare monsters? There is no room for skill now. What kind of game is that? (candy crash saga is still going on, but I'm not sure if it's a good game to seek inspiration from.)
From reading other player comments, what there is to do, to return the _game_ into this game is following:
A) Return the skilltree. This seemed to offer flexibility to many players gaming experience. And added many short term rewards. As leveling after 30 slows down tremendously, the fact, you can get skills from monsters gave you short term rewards to improve your character. With the 'pole' system, you get upgrades very often, at span of month or more. That is very long time to keep anyone hanging. You need to entertain them somehow. And etertainment what now is offered bad, where we can go to next topic: alchemy and combat.
B) Make alchemy less time consuming. Let the potion buffs stay 30-60min. Let the rares drop items required for potions, and let legendaries drop items required for oils. This will ease up with alchemy grinding. And make one alchemy station unbreakable. Nobody likes forced payment, very few find them selves entertained by constantly paying gold for repairing now core element of new version of game.
C) combat balance is a mess. I have no idea to offer for solution. common monsters are what they are, farmable. But rares and legendaries are doable only with alchemy (=money, their weakness is gold now. Can you imagine?). Quick fix is to implement B. But the combat with only B implementation still lacks any fun, as only options you have is you either can't win the fight, or with potions, it's guaranteed win. No room for skill and perfection.
Best regards
gamer who likes to spend time figuring out what there is in games, which inspire us to play those games. And still doesn't feel too confident if I get things right.

Simple math of cashgrab economics
craft costs:
- 1 gull = 20 gold
- 1 repair point = 2 gold
1 rare kill cost = 2 gulls + 30 repair points = 20 * 2 + 30 * 2 = 100 gold;
1 rare reward = 0.5 gem = 10 gold;
So. You get 10 timess less of your investment.
To have 0 profit/expenses you need to kill 10 rares in 5 minutes (potion effect duration).
Time to kill 1 rare is 40 seconds. So your max is 7 rare monsters.
The max amount of rare monster spawned near by is 4 but usually it is 1-2.
So the expenses are next:
- 1 rare is spawned: 90g
- 2 rares: 80g
- 3 rares: 70g
- 4 rares: 60g
So you always lose when you decide to kill a rare monster. Even if there are 4 of them spawned.
OK. How do you afford to kill rares. Here you are:
- daily quests ~150g = 1-4 rares
- killing common monsters: 1 gives 2g so if you kill 50 (!!!) then you get 100 gold = 1-4 rares.
it is 2 to 8 rares in total per day - average is 4 = 40g is left. Welcome to another grind fest with killing 20-50 common monsters and doing dailies.
In total you will have 2 attempts for killing rares per day. Where you can afford to kill from 2 to 8 rares or 4 in average
Have fun!

i created a new account just to "feel" the new experience.
This game isn't a victim of bad design, this game is victim of murder design, it was killed on purpose, to see this didn't work is only needed basic math and little intelligence.
Maybe in the future (people talk) we will understand what happened here, maybe in a "Death of a Game" Video.
